Chapter 4029 MU Superbody Major Event (109)

Chapter 4029 MU: The Superbody Incident (109)

The Parademons roared silently through space, their mechanized bodies gleaming with a deadly light. Spider-like creatures with powerful bodies and eight claws opened their gaping maws filled with sharp teeth, drool dripping from the corners. Laser turrets on their backs fully charged, a blinding flash of light followed, and laser beams shot forth. Six- or seven-meter-tall, multi-armed giants swung their modified steel fists, smashing everything in sight. Cosmic serpents composed of countless energy nodes stomped over trap after trap, shattering into pieces only to quickly coalesce again. A slimy monster with bird wings and a scorpion tail spat a mouthful of corrosive phlegm onto the mechanical defenses, melting away most of the metal.

Everyone on the defensive line behind them watched this scene with grave expressions. The individual strength of the Parademons was even greater than that of the soldiers of the three great empires, and they were not limited by their mechanical bodies. Mechanical modifications allowed them to fully utilize their inherent racial advantages. On top of that, they possessed a terrifying number comparable to the soldiers of the three great empires.

At this moment, everyone was internally screaming, "Batman!! Look at what you've brought!!!"

However, upon closer examination, the underlying meaning is even more chilling—is this the kind of opponent Batman is facing? He can actually negotiate cooperation with such a being, even getting him to bring his entire planet to the battlefield. Does this mean that Darkseid, with his terrifying army, will also avoid Batman's wrath?

I can't think about this anymore. Steve took a deep breath and reminded himself: the most important thing on the front lines is morale; we can't let the enemy's morale be boosted and our own belittled.

He immediately noticed that everyone looked unwell, and he realized that he had to distract them and prevent them from thinking about it any longer.

"We can't rely solely on mechanical defenses!" Steve shouted into the communicator. "Ready to go!"

"Hulk, go and intercept those giants immediately." Professor X's voice echoed in everyone's minds. "Captain America, deal with the slime-spitting monsters. Doctor Doom, you handle the energy-type monsters. Asgardian Royal Guard, continue to guard against the Green Lantern Fleet..."

After the mission was assigned, everyone put aside their thoughts and immediately rushed to the battlefield.

The Hulk were the first to enter, leaping from the Earth's surface into space and charging directly at the giant fist monster. Although the monster was larger than them, its strength was far inferior. The Hulk from the main universe pounded his chest and roared, "Hulk!!!"

He first punched the monster in the chest, smashing a large hole in its chest. Then he grabbed its leg and swung it around, sending several flying monsters flying. Then he used this two-fisted monster as a weapon, smashing it wherever it pleased until the monster's upper body flew off, leaving only fragments of its lower body.

Seemingly not satisfied with just smashing, he ripped a massive shield plate from the mechanical defenses and began wielding a "whirlwind greatsword" amidst the Parademon army, smashing wherever he felt like hitting. None of the monsters he encountered were a match for him; they were instantly reduced to mincemeat.

While the Hulk is powerful, his activation state is unstable. The Hulks from the central universe and the main universe have already jumped up, and several more in Bruce Banner's form are still waiting on the surface.

“Professor X, help me!” one of the Dr. Banners shouted. “For some reason, Hulk isn’t responding to me! Find a way to get him out!”

“I’m afraid I can’t do that,” Charles said. “If I call on Hulk directly, it might seriously enrage him, causing him to go berserk on the surface. But that’s okay, I’ll teach you meditation, which will allow you to communicate with Hulk more effectively…”

Charles, much like a cosmic Thor, taught Bruce Banner in his mind-space how to better control and utilize the Hulk. And Dr. Banner and his companions learned very quickly.

Most Bruce Banners are resistant to the Hulk, but those who come here to participate in the war are more open-minded and want to use the Hulk's power to contribute to their own universe. And if Dr. Banner weren't so resistant to the Hulk, he could actually communicate with him.

After Dr. Banner frequently vented his anger in space from the central universe, the Hulk became very quiet. Dr. Banner also tried to communicate with him many times. Although the Hulk is actually quite like an immature child, with patience, it is entirely possible to establish a good cooperative relationship with him, much like a human host and a symbiote.

The symbiote consumes two cans of chocolate balls every 100 kilometers, so Hulk is basically doing all the work for free. Considering this, Banner can't resist him, and his main approach is to "coax" him, which has led to Banner being the best at coaxing children, second only to Scarlet Witch.

As Hulk entered the arena, it was the Green Lanterns' turn to frown—this giant, whose color was similar to theirs, was far too destructive. They watched helplessly as the armored Parademons, known for their defense and previously used as practice targets, saw their prized armor rendered utterly useless. A single punch from this giant turned them into pancakes, shell and all.

“Hulk is irrational; we can find a way to distract them,” said the main universe Batman. “Mars Manhunter, use mind control to further incite his anger, then turn them to you, and take them away from the battlefield.”

The Martian Hunter from the main universe nodded and, leading the other Martian Hunters, flew towards the area where the Hulk was wreaking havoc, while mentally assessing the speed difference between himself and the Hulk.

After some calculations, they discovered that the Hulk was far slower than them. This meant their plan to lure them away should go smoothly. The only problem was that interfering with the Hulk's thinking might mean facing Professor X head-on.

"Come on," Martian Hunter in the main universe thought to himself, "We'll have to face this sooner or later. Let's see who's better at it, the mutants or the Martians."

He slowly closed his eyes, his thoughts shooting out like arrows, quickly finding the Hulk's brainwaves. He sensed a mental barrier, seemingly left by Professor X. The Martian Manhunter from the main universe took a deep breath, concentrated, and thrust forward with all his might. The barrier shattered, and his thoughts successfully invaded the Hulk's mind.

"Isn't this a bit too easy?" As the Martian Hunter from the main universe hesitated, he saw the Hulk he had invaded seem to have suffered some great shock, letting out a deafening roar, and his whole body began to emit green light.

Martian manhunters are very sensitive to energy, and one of them immediately shouted, "Something's wrong! Get away from him!!!"

Green smoke began to billow from the Hulk's eyes and mouth, and the muscles on his body became more defined. Just as he turned his head to look at them, alarm bells rang in the mind of Martian Hunter from the main universe.

Because what he saw was not a pair of angry eyes, but a calm and wise gaze—it wasn't Hulk, it was Bruce Banner!

"What's going on?!" The Martian Hunter from the main universe asked through the mental network as he retreated. "Why did he suddenly... Oh no, we might have fallen for a trap!"

“When the anger level reaches a certain point, there will be a breakthrough,” another Martian manhunter said. “Professor X deliberately allowed us to provoke Hulk because he knew that this would allow Hulk to maintain his power while regaining his sanity, stabilizing Hulk’s state so that he could stay on the battlefield indefinitely.”

Martian Manhunter's heart sank as he realized his counterpart might be right—Professor X's defenses against the Hulk's mind were far too rudimentary, not at all what one would expect from such a renowned psychic.

Then there's only one possibility: the other side knows that Hulk's unstable form is just a transition, and the true strongest Hulk will only appear after his anger reaches its peak.

But it was too late. Most of the Martian hunters had already broken through the barrier left by Charles. The Hulk, now completely enraged, stopped roaring and charging into the enemy ranks. Instead, he focused on the larger Parademons, forcing them back time and time again.

Even more terrifying, Martian Manhunter in the main universe discovered he could no longer sense Hulk's presence—Hulk's brainwaves had simply vanished from space. This was likely not Professor X's doing, but rather Hulk possessing immunity to mind-based attacks.

"This is too troublesome," the Martian hunter from the main universe said on the communication channel. "He possesses invincible strength, a stable state, the wisdom of a scientist, and the ability to resist mind control—what weakness does he have?"

Although I spoke to Batman politely, I was actually cursing him in my heart: God, open your eyes and look at this! Is this how you balance the game?!

Even the Green Lanterns were astonished. They thought Superman and Martian Manhunter were the result of God's slip of the hand, but they didn't expect there to be other masters. Whose subordinates are these?!

That wasn't all. Finding close combat ineffective, the Martian hunters decided to use their speed advantage for ranged attacks. After retreating some distance, the Martian hunters from the main universe unleashed a burst of red light in their eyes, followed by a laser beam.

However, the beam of light was completely dissolved when it came into contact with the faint green glow on Hulk's skin. Not only the laser beam, but other energy attacks from the Parademons were also completely ineffective against him.

In his "Green Scar" state, Hulk possesses physical strength equal to or even surpasses that of Martian Manhunter, along with a sharp mind and immunity that perfectly counters the opponent's mental abilities. He is also immune to the vast majority of energy attacks.

In this state, Hulk is extremely stable, rarely reverting to a mortal, and is well-suited for space combat, making him a rare and exceptionally well-rounded powerful warrior in the Marvel universe.

Just as Martian Manhunter was racking his brains about how to deal with these green giants, he discovered that they were fighting and retreating at the same time—the Hulks began to gather in one direction, but not towards the base.

"Why did they run away?" Martian Manhunter from the main universe asked the Batman from the main universe, somewhat puzzled. "What's in that direction?"

Even Batman in the main universe didn't know. But they soon found out, because the light of the faster-than-light jump flashed before their eyes—the Hulk had simply disappeared from the battlefield, seemingly leaving in a spaceship.

The main universe's Batman immediately realized what was going on, saying, "They've probably gone to support Asgard."

The Martian hunter from the main universe narrowed his eyes and said, "They can barely protect themselves, yet at this critical moment, they send their most powerful forces to support Asgard?"

"Either they're insane, or the Hulk is far from being their strongest force."
