Chapter 1344 Wayne Manor?
Chapter 1344 Wayne Manor?
Stepping out of her room and into the living room, Hermione realized that she was in a charming little villa.
The style is minimalist with clean and crisp lines, and it makes extensive use of wood and stone, giving it a cozy Nordic holiday home feel.
There was a fireplace in the living room, a blanket was casually draped over the sofa, and the kitchen was open-plan with two unwashed cups on it—the water they drank last night.
Sunlight streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, spilling onto the light gray floor, making the entire space bright and warm.
Hermione looked around and asked, "Is this the ground level?"
“Hmm.” Vincent nodded. “The villa is a disguise. To outsiders, it’s just a wealthy person’s vacation home. No one would suspect what’s underneath.”
He led her through the living room and pushed open a wooden door.
Inside was a study, but all the bookshelves were empty.
Next to the fireplace is an upright piano with a retro design and slender, steady lines.
"You can play the piano?" Hermione approached the piano and gently touched the black and white keys.
Vincent shook his head. "I can't, but this piano is more than just decoration."
He gently took her small hand in his, and ran her fingertips across the keys in the left bass register, stopping at an inconspicuous spot.
Then, he guided her to press the first note.
thump—
Deep, resonant notes echoed in the study.
Hermione's fingers were pressed down by him, and she could feel the warmth of his palm.
thump—
The second note is still in the low register, but it is slightly higher than the first.
Hermione turned her head and saw Vincent's eyes fixed intently on the piano.
The last note.
This time, he guided her hand from the left bass band all the way to the right.
Ding--
The three notes, from low to bright, finally landed on a clear high note, like the end of a conversation, or like a door being gently knocked on.
Hermione's fingers were still on the keys when, as the last note fell, she heard a very soft, subtle sound, like the start of a machine.
The sound came from inside the piano, from under the floor, and from deep within the walls.
The empty bookcase in the middle began to move, not by sliding open all at once, but by slowly and silently moving to the side along some unseen track.
Behind the bookshelf, a gray-white stone wall was visible, with a narrow crack in the wall through which a faint blue light shone.
Hermione stared at the hidden door, at the eerie blue light, and suddenly had a strange feeling, "This way of opening..."
"what happened?"
She tilted her head and said, "It's quite interesting."
Vincent smiled and took her little hand as they walked through the hidden door.
Behind the door was an elevator. The walls were made of matte metal, with no extra buttons, only a small glass panel that glowed blue.
Vincent placed his hand on it, and the blue light on the glass panel began to flash, seemingly to confirm his identity.
With a "ding," the blue light stopped flashing, and the elevator began to descend silently.
Where do we go now?
"Below, the real stronghold."
The elevator descended for a long time; Hermione didn't count the seconds, but it was roughly ten seconds.
The door opened, and she was stunned by what she saw.
It was a huge natural cave—no, it should be said that it was a giant underground space that had been modified.
The dome is incredibly high, even more so than the dome of Hogwarts Great Hall, and you can clearly see the grey-blue sky characteristic of the Scottish region.
Not only the environment, but even the sunlight poured down through the dome, like a giant pillar of light, illuminating the entire space.
Hermione looked down but couldn't see the bottom. All she could see were endless circular corridors spiraling down the cave walls, each with a pair of empty, silver metal doors waiting to be opened.
Although she couldn't see the bottom, she could vaguely see some faint lights flickering.
"This is..." She was so surprised that she couldn't speak.
“A natural cave.” Vincent gently put his arm around her. “After Christmas, I negotiated with the Muggle government and obtained ownership of this land.”
Hermione opened her mouth, but still didn't know what to say.
She walked along the circular corridor, looking down at the bottomless underground space, then up at the huge dome, and then at the metal corridors that stretched out in circles. She remained silent for a long time.
Vincent.
"Ok?"
"Are there bats here..." she paused, "?
Vincent paused for a moment, "No, what's wrong?"
“It’s nothing,” Hermione said, looking away. “I was just asking.”
Vincent noticed the inexplicable smile on her face and knew she must have misunderstood.
He didn't press her for details, but led her down the path, introducing her to the different areas.
"The top three floors are the living quarters, which can accommodate about 100 people. Below that is the training area, then the warehouse and laboratories, and finally the control center..."
Hermione saw many sophisticated devices and flowing magical circuits on the walls along the way, and suddenly had a strange feeling.
Vincent.
"Ok?"
She tilted her head to look at him, "Your surname is Wayne, and this is an underground cave, with so much high technology..."
She smiled her bright eyes and said, "How about we call this place Wayne Manor from now on?"
Vincent paused for a moment, "Wayne Manor?"
“Yes.” Hermione nodded seriously. “Bruce Wayne’s Wayne Manor has a Batcave, and you have one here too, and it’s much bigger than his.”

Vincent reached out and pinched her cheek. "I'm not a superhero like Batman."
Hermione grabbed his large hand and gently rubbed her face against it. "It's okay, I prefer the Dark Lord."
Vincent looked down at her and brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear with his other hand. "What's so great about the Dark Lord? He's wanted by the Ministry of Magic. He has to keep a low profile in everything he does."
"Low-key?" Hermione chuckled. "Riding a fire-breathing dragon across London, that's certainly low-key enough."
"Hmm." Vincent pinched her little cheek again; it was soft and felt great. "That was an accident."
Hermione reluctantly let him pinch her. "Oh, aren't you having a bit too many accidents?"
"It's alright, I'm used to it anyway."
Vincent didn't dare pinch her for too long, and quickly took her little hand and continued downwards.
As you pass through the training area, there are some oddly shaped firearms hanging on the wall, with a design style similar to the Dominator pistol.
Upon arriving at the warehouse area, rows of supply boxes were neatly stacked, labeled with words such as "medical supplies" and "alchemy materials".
Through the glass of the laboratory, you can see the plants being cultivated inside.
The further down you go, the more equipment you see, and the denser the magic circuits on the walls become. Looking up, the flowing glimmer of light fills the entire space like blood vessels.
Finally, they reached the very bottom.
Hermione then realized that the faintly flickering light was actually a huge spherical device, entirely silver-white, with intricate patterns and pipes covering its surface, suspended above a ring-shaped base.
Warm white light emanated from inside the device, like a sleeping heart beating slowly.
Judging from the various control consoles and projection screens surrounding it, this must be a very important piece of equipment.
