Chapter 500 Powerful Enemy
Chapter 500 Powerful Enemy
"Anakin, did the Force give you any instructions?" Thor asked.
Anakin snorted and replied with a hint of disdain, "That's not how the Force works."
"Isn't it? Relax your body and feel its flow until it guides you where you need to go." Thor questioned.
Anakin replied, slightly surprised, "No... sometimes, yes, but not always. The Force, it can be confusing sometimes."
"Ah, a philosophical piece of nonsense." Thor nodded in agreement and patted Anakin on the back "gently", almost making him stagger a few steps. "However, this kind of nonsense is also what I and the Avengers need to learn."
Anakin smiled slightly and asked with a hint of confusion, "I'm not sure if this is a compliment or sarcasm."
A question arose in his mind: "Is this the legendary Thor? One of the strongest fighters of the Avengers?"
To Anakin, this godlike being seemed casual, but not Joker-like. Well, not exactly like Joker, but still somewhat similar.
He felt that God's behavior should be more dignified or gorgeous, not as sharp-tongued as it was now.
At least in the use of power, Thor has reached the realm of perfection. The duel with the Son was a feast for the eyes. If it weren't for the more urgent task of rescuing Ahsoka, Anakin would have wanted to witness the entire battle between them.
"Then, even if I do find the Son, the real challenge will be to fight against him. We should at least have a thorough plan," Anakin stressed.
"Perhaps I can distract him," Thor suggested. "With my power, it will be enough to keep him busy, giving you time to get close and use the dagger to deliver a fatal blow."
Anakin answered thoughtfully, "I'm afraid it won't be that simple." He was speaking to Thor as well as to himself.
As the two nervously prepared for the upcoming challenge, the voice they had heard earlier suddenly echoed in Anakin's mind.
"nothing is impossible......"
Anakin had doubts in his mind. That voice, so familiar, where had he heard that voice before?
However, Thor did not hesitate like Anakin.
"No matter who you are, do not hide in the dark." Thor's voice was firm, and the electricity around Thor's hammer crackled in the air. "Otherwise, you will face the double wrath of Thor Odinson and Anakin Skywalker."
"The Chosen One." The voice sounded again, this time clearer than before. "It's a rather interesting name. Considering your frequent contact with Skyrim, this name is quite appropriate, if it doesn't make you feel uncomfortable."
At this moment, the two of them were once again in a state of tension. They saw a ball of silver-white mist floating in from an unknown place, gradually condensing into a shape. The mist slowly formed into a human figure, until...
"You have indeed become stronger, Anakin." The man who emerged from the mist praised, "Just as I always believed."
When Anakin Skywalker saw who was coming, he was so shocked that he almost dropped his lightsaber.
Although Thor remained alert, his vigilance eased after he felt the aura emitted by the phantom.
"Master Qui-Gon?" Anakin said in disbelief, "Is it... really you?"
"Indeed, Anakin," Qui-Gon Jinn confirmed, walking towards the stunned Anakin, pausing briefly to gaze upon the God of Thunder, "Thor Odinson, welcome to our galaxy. It is a pleasure to meet one as powerful and renowned as yourself."
"Do you know me?" Thor asked with a little surprise.
"When a man surrenders his existence to the forces that bind the universe, he discovers many things," Qui-Gon explained.
"But Master, why are you here?" Anakin whispered to himself, still shocked to see the Jedi Master who had helped him escape from his predicament on Tatooine.
"I once told Obi-Wan that this place is special, a meeting point of the Force, which allows me to express myself more clearly here than anywhere else." Qui-Gon Jinn revealed, "I also have a purpose for coming here. Are you ready?"
"Are you ready?" This question confused Anakin. Anakin kept repeating it, like an echo, reverberating deep in his mind.
"Be prepared to face your demons, the ones you fear losing and the ones you fear becoming," Qui-Gon said, his expression conveying a calm that belied his fiery words. "I believe in you, even if you do not believe in yourself. As I know, you are strong in the Force. It is with this power that you can fulfill your destiny and fight back the darkness that is coming."
Anakin was clearly confused by this, unsure of what exactly this meant.
"Are you referring to the Son?" he asked hesitantly.
"He's only part of it, Anakin." Qui-Gon reached forward and placed a firm hand on Anakin's shoulder. "Anakin, you need to look deeper into yourself, trust your instincts, never lose faith in your friends and comrades, and keep going."
Afterwards, Qui-Gon's spirit faded away, leaving behind a confused but determined Jedi Knight, although he still had questions in his mind.
Silence hung in the air until Thor broke it with an exasperated sigh.
"It's a typical philosopher's way of speaking." Lei Shen said with a wry smile, "Always going around in circles, not giving a clear answer, as if dealing with some kind of inner struggle."
Although Anakin wanted to defend his first unofficial Master, he could not find the words. He shared Thor's frustration, so he chose to remain silent.
Uh…Anakin raised a hand and gently massaged his forehead, mumbling to himself, "Why can't you just say it?"
Just as Thor was about to speak, suddenly, his expression became serious, his head jerked up, and Anakin felt a tense pressure, and he quickly began to spin the hammer in his hand.
At this moment, a deep dark shadow swept in like a strong wind and lifted him up high.
"Thor!" Anakin shouted loudly, but when he tried to chase the figure, his steps seemed to be frozen.
The Jedi Knight encountered unprecedented pressure, as if he was tightly bound by invisible shackles. It was a feeling...he could hardly move.
Anakin gritted his teeth and struggled to break free from the restraint. He felt the Force drain from his body, as if releasing him. He turned to the source of the power and placed his hand on the lightsaber.
Mists filled the air, and as time went on, they began to condense into thicker forms. Under the cover of darkness, they became even thicker.
Then, a voice sounded.
At first, the sound was as vague as a windmill, but then it gradually became clearer, and a heavy breathing echoed around Anakin, making his heart palpitate.
Anakin couldn't explain what he was feeling, but he could feel the fear that was setting in. That voice... why did it sound so... familiar?
As the mist dissipated, a tall, dark, and imposing figure gradually emerged. From any angle, he was indescribably similar to the Son of God.
He is covered in black armor, with no body parts visible. The design of the helmet appears to be a failed attempt to blend a skull with an insect head with red lenses and triangular blowholes that emit a hissing, wheezing sound. His black cape flutters in the wind, revealing more of the armor and occasionally revealing gray hues. The only noticeable colors are the flashing red and blue lights on his chest, and the green glow emanating from his belt.
Anakin's breath hitched, and the air around him seemed to grow thinner. Who or what was in front of him? It was hard to tell at the moment, but...what did this mean?
The dark side of this man was as deep as or even beyond the boundless dark celestial body. He seemed to be silently emitting an evil energy that was chilling. Anakin could sense the dangerous aura from him by intuition, so he instinctively wanted to stay away from him.
"So..." The man's voice had a metallic quality, thanks to the presence of his helmet. "Of all the people, I chose to face you. I wonder if this was a test of my loyalty... or just a form of entertainment."
Anakin was almost knocked down by this invisible sense of oppression.
The man in black untied something from his fluttering cloak and swung it mercilessly. Then, a striking red lightsaber jumped out of the darkness, flashing a dazzling bloody light.
"The answer will be revealed soon," he said coldly.
Instantly, the figure rushed towards Skywalker like lightning. The red lightsaber quickly collided with Anakin's hastily ignited blue lightsaber, and Anakin's limbs could hardly support themselves under the opponent's overwhelming force.
Instinctively, Anakin reached out and unleashed his most powerful Force thrust yet. The man in black was flung back, but his figure did not go away. He stretched out his hands, as if resisting some huge force, and then slowly stopped.
"That's pretty impressive," he murmured.
As his opponent quickly counterattacked, Anakin hurriedly raised his lightsaber to block the crimson blade.
To his surprise, he was grabbed by the feet and Anakin growled in pain, but he managed to roll backwards and fall to one knee, swinging his lightsaber to the side to free himself.
Even though it was just one exchange, Anakin was already breathless and exhausted, if there was a word to describe the power disparity, it was far more difficult than fighting on the battlefield all day.
This enemy was unlike anyone he had ever met. But no matter what, he would never give up easily.
Anakin placed his other arm on his knee for support, forcing himself to stand up and get into his usual fighting stance.
"Who are you?" Anakin asked, narrowing his eyes.
“Your doom,” the man in black armor said, “and your future destination.” The voice was cold and decisive, as if foreshadowing the coming storm.
Then, Anakin was repelled by the man's terrible strength and the Force, and he was forced back, quickly correcting himself as he slid.
He had to resist the invasion of this force. He pushed back the red lightsaber in his hand with force, and swung the lightsaber to blow the horn of counterattack, but this attack was quickly deflected by the opponent, and he was once again in a defensive situation.
This enemy was like an insurmountable mountain, suffocating Anakin. He couldn't even distract himself from the battle between Thor and the Son.
