Chapter 417: Vision and Guardians of the Galaxy
Chapter 417: Vision and Guardians of the Galaxy
Tatooine is a desert world that is effectively ruled by the Hutts, a thousands-year-old criminal group described as large space slugs who run many of the planet's affairs.
Meanwhile, the Tusken Raiders, or the "Sand People," claim to be the original inhabitants of the planet. They are often seen as scavengers with their own race, culture, and beliefs, though many consider these beliefs and culture to be too barbaric and therefore rarely explored.
Besides the usual criminal activity, casinos, and repair and modification centers, Tatooine also has another lucrative business: moisture farms. However, the inhabitants of these farms are often raided, and with far greater frequency than is known.
When the Mandalorian and the Avengers arrived at the planet of two suns and traveled to the city of Mos Espa, they saw many new alien races within the city's area.
For Vision, the sight was stunning, as his supercomputer brain was able to process and store vast amounts of new information in a short period of time.
This place is seen by some as a den of villains, and it certainly lives up to its name, as shady characters can be found everywhere. Some of them stare at the Mandalorian with resentment, greed, and anger, but ultimately keep their emotions in check.
However, Vision noticed a group of men wearing uniform jackets or trench coats with the flame symbol emblazoned on their clothing, and they were much friendlier to the Mandalorians.
When Dax greeted a Weequay in a maroon trench coat, Vision curiously asked, "Are they your friends?"
Finn replied, "Allies."
When the Mandalorians were asked who the leader of these people was, they all snorted, and Toby shook his head and said, "An arrogant and crazy guy."
Vision further asked, "Do you know what they call themselves?"
"They call themselves the 'Guardians of the Galaxy,'" Dax said.
Vision repeated incredulously: "Guardians of the Galaxy?"
Darla couldn't help laughing after hearing this, "Yeah, it's weird, right?"
In this mysterious and dangerous world, the relationships between various races and forces are intricate. They are distant and mysterious elements. They are not dressed in Jedi costumes, but they can tell so many stories. At the door of a tavern, a window suddenly broke, and a body was ruthlessly thrown into it, followed by loud laughter and chaotic commotion.
"It seems they are already here," Finn commented calmly, his eyes passing over the soul abandoned outside Cantina.
Although wary, Vision still trusts his new friends and follows them into the bar, where a fight is raging.
Walking in, the Avenger was shaken as a body crashed into him and fell to the ground. He looked down to see a Nikto female lying on the ground in agony. Meanwhile, Vision's eyes turned to the fight in the middle of the bar. There were various peculiar participants, including a gray-skinned humanoid with red natural tattoos all over his body, who had grabbed a man by the throat.
A giant tree-like creature captures a Quarren, while what looks like a raccoon rushes forward and punches a squid-like creature in the face.
"Hold on, Drax," Dax called out amid the chaos.
"You know." Finn nudged Vision gently, "Our friends are here."
At this time, a green-skinned woman with long dark chestnut hair returned to the table with a few glasses of wine. Next to her sat a Zabrak woman, who was sipping her drink and laughing. Next to them was a rustic assassin robot, cheering for the battle. Among the group of people, Finn easily found a familiar figure.
"Yo, Mantis!"
The big-eyed woman with a pair of tentacles and wearing green clothes shouted happily when she heard the sound and almost pounced on the Mandalorian.
"Finn! It's so good to see you!" she cried happily, hugging him tightly. Finn stumbled back a little, but soon smiled and hugged the Guardian as well.
Everything seemed to return to calm when she left Finn's arms, but she surprised the Mandalorian with a passionate kiss that caught him off guard and made him feel like his brain temporarily short-circuited.
The green-skinned woman bowed her head, but despite that, the smile on her face was still visible. The Zabrak women raised their glasses to cheer for the heartwarming interaction, while the droids made retching noises. Dax and Toby whistled and cheered, while Boba hid his amused smile as Finn seemed completely shocked.
Mantis then leaves a stunned Finn, who seems confused by what just happened.
"Oh, look at this situation, he is speechless." Dax laughed. Toby laughed foolishly at the scene.
"Uh... Mantis..." Finn finally said, "It's not that I don't... don't like what you just did..." His eyes were full of confusion.
The wide eyed woman giggled, a blush forming on her cheeks as she said innocently, "Suji told me that you were 'my people' and that I needed to claim my territory." She pointed to the Zabrak female who was laughing maniacally behind her.
"And I think you did an excellent job at that, Mantis," Suji said proudly, raising the glass again before downing its contents.
At this point, Drax the Destroyer noticed all this, he pulled away from the fight and shouted, "Now you must destroy any woman who tries to steal your things."
The Talking Raccoon added lazily, "It will be a sight to behold."
The green-skinned woman said, "Can you please stop fighting? Our friends are here."
"No, no, finish what you're doing," Toby encouraged. "We don't want to interrupt you."
"Haha, these clowns can be easily beaten to a pulp," said the raccoon, walking over to the table they were all gathered around.
"So where are Peter and Kraglin?" Dax asked. "They said they had something special for us."
"I don't know what they are busy with, they are so mysterious." Su Ji replied with a frown.
"Peter mentioned that it would be good for both the Reavers and the Protectors," Mantis said. "Did Peter tell you anything, Gamora?"
However, Gamora shook her head, indicating that she knew nothing, and then said: "Trust Peter, Rocket. Not everything requires you to argue."
Rocket simply waved Gamora away until his nose suddenly caught a whiff of something unusual, and he turned to Vision, who had been silent the entire time.
"Who is this clown?" Rocket asked curiously.
"He doesn't look like your typical meatbag," the robot HK replied.
Finn finally recovered from Mantis's actions and said hastily, "Relax, HK. This is our new friend."
"Friends?" Su Ji asked in confusion, "What kind of friends?"
"Well, if you're wondering, he's actually a proper hero," Toby explained, resting an elbow on Vision's shoulder. "Didn't you see his flowing cape?"
The eyes of the people around were full of suspicion, but this was an understandable reaction.
At this point, the Avenger took a step forward and politely introduced himself: "I'm Vision, nice to meet you."
"Vision?" several Guardians repeated.
A muscular alien spoke first, "I'm Drax. My companions include Gamora, Suji, Rocket, Groot, HK-47, and Mantis, who is in the arms of her future husband."
At this time, Finn asked his Mandalorian companion for help, "What should I do now? It's not that I don't like her, but..."
Dax and his brother laughed and said, "Do you think Spall would agree?"
"Maybe we can introduce her to everyone along with these unique people."
"You won't help me!" Finn was a little anxious.
"I don't know you, Finn," Boba said with a bright smile, "She just thought of you as her guardian."
"Oh, come on," Finn grumbled, "I haven't even taken her out on a date yet."
“You…you mean…you don’t want to…” Mantis’ tone was a little low, and his antenna drooped slightly.
This made the green-armored Mandalorian feel a little nervous, even more so when he noticed the reactions of Mantis's fellow soldiers. At this moment, he was not sure if they were joking lightheartedly or were completely offended. Especially Drax, who frowned and snapped his fingers.
"No, no, no, of course not!" Finn quickly explained, "I really like you, Mantis. It's just that I don't want to do anything that might hurt you. I care about you too much to do that."
His explanation relieved Mantis's mood, she cheered and kissed Finn again. For a moment, he seemed to be in a whirlpool of happiness.
"Oh my god, could you guys stop kissing each other on the face all the time?" Rocket couldn't help but mutter and looked away.
HK-47 commented: "Aliens have a very unique way of expressing emotions, especially when it comes to the most primitive form of reproduction."
Suji asked curiously, "Can Mantis still give birth to Finn's children?"
Everyone was at a loss about this.
In this heated conversation, apart from Vision, there was another person who remained silent, her eyes always fixed on the eye-catching robot in front of her.
Although Gamora wanted to join the discussion, her attention seemed to be drawn to other things, especially the thing on the other person's forehead. She felt something strangely familiar.
Suddenly, Vision's voice broke the silence, "Nice to meet you." This sentence immediately attracted everyone's attention.
Then, Rocket said lightheartedly, "If you're friends with these guys, sit down." He poured himself a drink, "You can chat with us while we wait for Quill and Kraglin."
Gamora looked at Vision and asked, "So, where are you from?"
Vision replied with a hint of confusion, "I'm from a planet called Earth."
"Earth?" Suji repeated in confusion. "You mean the soil on this planet?"
Seeing that the other party seemed to have misunderstood, Gamora politely interrupted, "Can you please repeat it again? I may not have heard it clearly."
Vision replied again, "I am indeed from Earth. Any questions?" He tilted his head slightly, looking a little confused.
At this time, the other guardians also turned their attention to their group, and it was obvious that they all had a strong interest in the Avengers from Earth.
