Chapter 107 Only Today Did I Realize I Am Who I Am
Now, Voldemort, possessing Draco and having consumed all of Lucius's magic, stood up and said to Harry, "I thought you would bring two Aurors, Potter."
"This old guy's magic is really nothing special."
Harry, with his ring knife in his left hand and wand in his right, circled and maneuvered with the fellow, shouting like thunder:
"You cowardly thief, now that you've seen your grandpa Harry, why don't you come out and eat my three hundred swords! Did a dog steal your balls, leaving you only a cowardly little bird hiding in your ass?"
Lockhart, hearing his tirade, inwardly shrank back in disbelief; Voldemort's face turned ashen, and he suddenly detached from Draco's body, revealing his true form and soul.
"Draco was absolutely right, your mouth is like it's been soaked in a cesspool."
Lockhart's eyes widened when he saw Tom. "Which school's ghost are you from? I've never seen you before!"
"Huh? You can touch the wand? Hogwarts has a second mischievous elf?"
Tom frowned, ignoring his words, and said to Harry, "When Draco said that I would be killed by you as a baby fifty years from now, I thought he was lying and almost couldn't resist casting the Cruciatus Curse on him..."
Harry thought to himself: This guy's split soul is not connected to the original owner's mind; it only knows those trivial things from fifty years ago.
Lockhart, upon hearing this, exclaimed in shock, "Wait a minute! What do you mean by being killed by Harry fifty years later? And what the hell is the Crucifixion Curse? Who are you?"
Tom, annoyed by his incessant chatter, waved his wand and shouted, "Shut up!"
No sooner said than done. Just as Tom cast the spell on Lockhart, Harry raised his wand and shouted, "Crush!"
Tom's eyes were as fast as lightning, and his wrist flicked like the wind. With another flick of his wand, Lucius's massive body flew straight toward Harry.
The cursed light struck the body, and with a "whoosh," a bloody hole the size of a large bowl was carved into the spine. Blood splattered everywhere, as if a vat of crimson dye had been overturned.
"Come out! Kill him!"
As soon as the snake-like voice rang out, the bottom of the pool churned violently. With a loud crash and a thunderous roar, the snake-like monster leaped out of the water, its bloody maw opening wide as it lunged straight at Harry's face.
Harry, in turn, shouted in the Parseltongue, "You beast, get out of here!"
"Don't bother, Potter. I've cast a shielding spell on it; it can only hear my voice now."
Harry quickly closed his eyes, using the clairvoyant potion to pinpoint its location, and slashed and struck at the basilisk, creating a chaotic battle. Truly: Scarface eliminated three scourges, his greatest achievement being the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets!
Tom, intent on humiliating Harry and avenging his future grudge, merely watched coldly, his mouth taunting him repeatedly.
"You think I don't know Dumbledore cast a spell in the pipes? But I have dozens of servants to cover for me; I could have let the basilisk walk right into the bathroom."
Lockhart was so frightened by this that his legs went weak. Although he didn't know who this ghost in front of him was or how he could have dozens of servants, he knew that his life was in danger.
Although he had cast a spell of oblivion on himself, leaving his mind in a state of confusion, he still vividly remembered glimpsing the precious item he had seen around Lucius's neck when he descended into the cave. He didn't know its exact nature, only that it was no ordinary object.
She immediately moved her shaky legs and shuffled over to Lucius's side.
I'm so sorry, Mr. Malfoy. In my next life, I'll definitely be a house-elf to repay you...
He muttered to himself for a moment, then reached out and broke the chain, stuffing the pendant into his pocket.
Just then, a soft "thud" was heard, and Lockhart quickly jumped up. Tom also turned his head sharply, and the four pairs of eyes met.
"Actually, I'm very curious, what was Potter's purpose in bringing you here?"
Tom toyed with his wand, a half-smile playing on his lips, and said, "Draco told me you're a good-for-nothing who can't do anything right. And the magic within you is indeed pitifully sparse."
"Tsk tsk, I don't even have the interest to smoke it."
Lockhart, being a man of wide experience, recognized that this ghost respected the strong and looked down on the weak, and dared not show the slightest fear.
He gasped, then tried to straighten his back with a powerful, almost bridge-like movement, but he exerted too much force, causing his lower body to suddenly become unstable. His legs trembled violently, and he nearly fell to his knees. In a panic, he quickly took several quick, rapid steps to regain his footing.
"Harry isn't backed into a corner yet, is he?"
Lockhart gasped, "I won't make a move until then."
Upon hearing this, Tom narrowed his eyes and became extremely wary.
Listen, dear reader: Voldemort remained inactive because he had read many of Lockhart's works. Though the writing was flamboyant and frivolous, the details were impeccable.
If he were truly an ignorant and incompetent fool, how would he know such extravagant deeds?
Seeing Tom hesitate, Lockhart felt relieved.
Just as he was about to spout some boastful and intimidating words to persuade him to subdue the giant python and spare Harry, the man suddenly raised his wand and roared:
"Avada Kedavra!"
A ghastly green light burst from the tip of the staff, and before Lockhart could even react, the pendant in his arms shattered with a deafening roar. Shards pierced his heart, causing excruciating pain.
Tom was horrified when he saw this.
He actually managed to block the killing curse!
Damn it! Draco, that idiot!
"You've hidden your magic very well, Mr. Lockhart." Tom took a few steps back. "I don't think even Dumbledore could have survived a Killing Curse unscathed."
Lockhart felt a sharp pain in his heart, but dared not move for a moment. He gave a pale smile and said, "Dumbledore... well, he's just so-so."
Just then, Harry plunged his knife into the basilisk's soft belly. The beast hissed in pain, its iron tail sweeping across and striking Lockhart squarely in the back.
But with a loud "bang," Lockhart was sent flying backward like a kite with a broken string, plunging straight into the icy pool.
"Gurgle... Help!"
"I can't... gurgle gurgle..."
"Swimming, glug glug..."
Tom glanced at him coldly, shook his head, and said softly, "Great wizards do indeed often die in accidents, just like me."
"I will remember you, Gilderoy Lockhart."
Fearing further complications, Tom abandoned his intention to humiliate her, flicked his wand, and cast another Killing Curse.
Harry saw the curse coming, but he couldn't escape, so he simply held his ring knife horizontally.
The curse struck the knife, but it was like a clay ox sinking into the sea; the blade trembled slightly, and then there was no further movement.
Tom's face darkened; this was the second killing curse to fail today.
As the saying goes, things don't happen more than three times. Just as he was about to chant the incantation again, he suddenly saw a lot of stone chips and dust falling in front of him.
Looking up, one could hear a rumbling sound coming from a pipe on the ceiling of the secret room, like a thunderous chariot rolling or an earth dragon turning over, shaking the surrounding area.
The sound came crashing down like the collapse of the heavens and the earth. Tom waved his wand and summoned the diary from Draco's robe. Suddenly, a tall, imposing man wielding a heavy iron hammer sprang out from the pipe.
"Harry! I'm here to help you!"
Hagrid descended from the sky, his face contorted with rage and ferocity.
There's a saying: a man who was once a coward, suddenly becomes a fierce Vajra. Having broken free from delusion, he wields his hammer against evil. Who says Haig lacks courage? True feelings are revealed in times of crisis. Only today do I know who I am? Ah! Only today do I know that I am truly myself!
