Chapter 112 Unifying the Black Corner Region?
Like a chain reaction! Wu Tian, Elder Huo, the three Dou Wang elders, and several other elders who had dealt with Huo Yuhao all stood up at this moment, their voices converging into a wave of support!
The commotion abruptly ceased, and all the elders were stunned, staring incredulously at the almost unanimous support.
Huo Yuhao was completely stunned, standing beside his seat, his mind blank. Chief Elder? Wasn't that similar to the Sea God Pavilion Master of Shrek Academy?
Just as all the elders fell silent, an aged yet calm voice rang out: "I—also agree."
It's Broadway!
He slowly stood up, his face no longer showing the shame and anger he had shown before, but only a complex expression of approval and relief.
Although Qian Lao didn't speak, he nodded silently, a small gesture that represented the will of a guardian.
The statement from Elder Bai and Elder Qian was like the final word! There were no more dissenting voices! In Huo Yuhao's still dazed gaze, Hu Qian, with a hint of a smile, gently patted his shoulder and pressed him back into his seat.
The next moment, all the elders, including Elder Bai, Elder Qian, Su Qian, Hu Qian, Wu Tian, and Elder Huo, stood up, faced Huo Yuhao, and bowed in unison, their voices loud and respectful: "Greetings, Chief Elder!"
The sound echoed in the conference room, lingering for a long time.
The meeting eventually adjourned. The spacious conference room was now empty, leaving only the true core decision-making body of Canaan Academy: Chief Elder Huo Yuhao, Vice Dean Hu Qian, Grand Elder Su Qian, and Guardian Elder Bai Lao Qian Lao.
Huo Yuhao sat at the head of the table, his fingers unconsciously tracing the smooth surface, his gaze somewhat unfocused. It all happened so suddenly; he had inexplicably become the leader of Canaan Academy. Moreover, judging from the attitudes of the vice-dean and others, this wasn't just an empty title of honorary leader.
"Elder Huo," Hu Qian said, looking at his bewildered expression, unusually abandoning his joking tone, his voice utterly serious, "There's no need to refuse, much less doubt. You saved the academy at its most critical moment, saved everyone, including us old folks. You deserve this position!"
Su Qian and the two elders nodded solemnly, agreeing with Hu Qian's statement.
Huo Yuhao took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the turmoil in his heart. His identity was now settled, and responsibility rested on his shoulders. His gaze gradually became calm yet sharp, and he slowly spoke, issuing his first order as the chief elder: "In this calamity, the academy's teachers and students have suffered severe physical and mental trauma. To express our apology and compensation," he paused, then clearly stated, "I have decided to open the library! All students from all outer academies are permitted to each choose one treasure they desire!"
"Huh?" The four elders were stunned at the same time. Hu Qian's eyes widened, looking at Huo Yuhao with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. What a kid! He used to try every means to "squeeze" resources out of him. Now that he's become the boss, the first thing he does is "squander"? He's using his authority way too fast and too ruthlessly! He could almost see the treasures of Canaan Academy being emptied out!
"Ahem—" Elder Qian coughed dryly, looked at Huo Yuhao's persistent eyes, glanced at Elder Bai beside him who was equally speechless, and finally sighed helplessly: "Never mind—anyway, it was originally an opportunity reserved for the students, so it doesn't matter whether it's given to them sooner or later."
There was a hint of heartache in his voice.
Upon seeing that the two elders in charge of guarding the library had agreed to this order, which could be described as "arrogant," they realized that the order was indeed "overbearing."
Huo Yuhao nodded slightly, then his expression turned serious, and the atmosphere in the entire conference room became heavy. The elders' faces also darkened instantly; they knew that the real storm was about to begin.
"Next—" Huo Yuhao's voice was icy, each word seemingly carrying a chilling coldness, "Soul Palace—Iron Protector—the sect leaders and sect masters of the Black Corner Region who participated in the siege—"
He raised his head, his gaze as cold as ice, sweeping over each elder present: "We should discuss how to reciprocate."
The next morning, all the students of Canaan Academy, led by their instructors, went to the library in their respective classes to select treasures.
One by one, treasures that had been dormant for years found new owners. The gloom on the faces of the young men and women was replaced by surprise and excitement. This compensation washed away some of their resentment towards the academy.
"Old Lin, what do you think we should choose for the third treasure after the Inner Court assessment?" Yan Hao asked, fiddling with a scroll of Earth-rank combat skill, his heart pounding with excitement.
"I have a feeling!" Lin Xiuya said without looking up, while studying the combat technique he had just acquired, "There probably won't be a third chance! At the rate Yuhao plays like this, the Library Pavilion won't last that long."
"I'm sorry to trouble you elders to oversee the academy." Huo Yuhao said to Hu Qian, Su Qian, Elder Qian, and Elder Huo, who were seeing him off, as he stood in front of the spatial rift.
According to the results of yesterday's meeting, the people involved in this retaliatory action are: Huo Yuhao, Xue Hufa (who is controlled by Huo Yuhao), Bai Lao, and Wu Tian.
The elders and other senior members stayed at the academy to prevent any accidents from happening.
Hu Qian regained some of his former unruly nature and said with a mischievous smile, "Go and come back quickly, Chief! The academy still has a bunch of messes waiting for you to deal with, so don't go out and cause trouble."
Huo Yuhao nodded slightly, but there was no smile in his eyes.
The spatial power fluctuated, and the Elder tore open a pitch-black rift, into which Huo Yuhao and the other three instantly disappeared.
This retaliation is merely a statement of Canaan Academy's stance; its main purpose is to swiftly eliminate some of the Dou Huang forces involved in the attack on Canaan Academy. Important enemies such as Iron Protector and Medicine Emperor Han Feng have already fled the Black Corner Region or gone into hiding.
Wu Tian was still unwilling. If it weren't for Huo Yuhao, the greatest contributor to Canaan Academy, making this decision, he would have resolutely opposed it.
"Is that all? Just dealing with some small fry?" Even so, Wu Tian's voice was still full of resentment. He was extremely frustrated that he couldn't wipe out all the enemies.
Huo Yuhao said, "The most urgent task is the reconstruction of the academy, and a series of exposed security problems need to be addressed. Once these things are done—"
Huo Yuhao paused, seemingly deep in thought, his gaze unusually stern.
"After it's all done?" Bai Lao asked, puzzled.
"For the academy, for our students—" Huo Yuhao's voice was exceptionally cold: "The environment of the Black Corner Region is terrible!"
Huh? The two were taken aback.
"You plan to—" Wu Tian's voice became excited. He felt that Huo Yuhao's idea was consistent with his own long-held dream.
Huo Yuhao said calmly, "So I plan to carry out a major purge targeting all forces in the Black Corner Region, hmm."
Huo Yuhao paused for a moment, then said, "Perhaps unifying the Black Corner Region is also an option."
