Chapter 191. Easily Breaking Free from the Predicament of the Illness
An eerie silence fell over the hospital room, which smelled of medicine.
The person in the hospital bed and the people beside the bed looked at Spider-Man with disbelief.
Looking at that youthful yet familiar face.
Norman and Harry didn't know how to describe their feelings. They had guessed who Spider-Man was, but they never imagined that he would be a recent high school graduate or someone they knew.
Peter, this seemingly ordinary and introverted student, is actually Spider-Man, who fights crime and maintains order. He's just a kid, yet he can do such a thing.
Harry stood up, rubbed his eyes hard, and pinched his arm. After a sharp pain, he realized he wasn't dreaming and said incredulously:
"Peter, it really is you! You're Spider-Man? Unbelievable! My brother is Spider-Man, the one who fights evil and maintains peace. That's so cool!"
Harry's earlier frustration was quickly swept away by Peter's appearance. He stepped forward and punched Peter, saying, "I didn't expect you to be the one who kept the secret from me the most. You have the ability, yet you were still indulging Eugene and his gang before."
Peter gave an awkward laugh: "There are some unspeakable reasons behind this."
"I understand you." Harry patted Peter on the shoulder. "Everyone has their secrets."
"Peter, why did you expose your identity? Aren't you afraid?" Just then, Norman, lying on the hospital bed, spoke weakly, his eyes filled with hope.
"Uncle Norman, I'm not worried."
Peter knew what Uncle Norman meant; it was simply the trouble that might result from his identity being exposed.
But this is nothing to worry about. He had given it full consideration when he revealed his identity to Harry and the others.
Putting aside the fact that Harry and his friends are very likely not to reveal that they are Spider-Man, Mr. Stark's technology alone can perfectly prevent their identities from being exposed.
As long as Peter doesn't openly reveal his identity in front of many people, it won't cause any big commotion.
The claims about the dissemination of videos and images are utter nonsense.
Thanks to Stark's control over the network, all the hidden identities of the Star of Light members will not be revealed.
This approach may seem a bit domineering, but it is an undeniable fact.
"Thank you for trusting me, Peter, but my room is being monitored, and they might use that to blackmail you," Norman said, pointing to the security camera in the corner.
Peter waved his hand: "Uncle Norman, don't worry. Jarvis has already sent robots to wipe out those evil organizations. You and Harry should have told me sooner. Don't forget, I'm still a member of the Star of Light. We're professionals at dealing with these inhumane organizations."
"Yes," Norman breathed a sigh of relief. He was only shocked by Peter Spider-Man's identity, but he forgot that Spider-Man was a member of the Star of Light. With the Star of Light's domineering nature, any organization that endangers human development would be uprooted without leaving a trace.
Peter walked up to Norman and asked gently, "Uncle Norman, now can you tell me what trouble you've encountered?"
"That's a long story; it's a curse that plagued the Osborn family their entire lives," Norman sighed.
He spoke slowly and deliberately.
"Every member of the Osborne family will suffer from a rare genetic disease called reverse cell hyperplasia. People with this disease will experience various abnormalities in their physical functions and it will also have a serious impact on their mental health."
"These aren't the worst parts. None of those who contract the disease live past fifty, and they suffer immense pain before they die."
"What?" Peter looked at Harry in disbelief. He couldn't believe that Harry had such a condition, since he looked so healthy.
"I know this is hard to imagine, but it's true," Norman continued. "That's why I developed a human enhancement serum in an attempt to end all of this."
"But the serum has very strong side effects. It directly gave birth to another personality of mine, an evil personality that only knows how to destroy. I had no choice but to kill it, and the result is what I am now. Due to various chain reactions, I am about to die."
Norman spoke nonchalantly, as if these matters had nothing to do with him. In fact, he was almost bewitched by the evil personality, but the Star of Light, like a constant star across the sky, would expose any evil.
Norman understood that if he were dominated by the evil personality, the Star of Light could kill him in a second. Rather than die, he should kill the other personality and give Harry another chance at life. However, it now seemed that things had taken a big turn for the better.
"So, this is what you originally wanted to say, Harry? You wanted to contact Mr. Stark through me?" Peter said.
"Yes," Harry nodded, "but I'm worried it might affect your future. After all, our genetic disease has nothing to do with Stark Industries. Rather than jeopardizing your future, we might as well try it ourselves. After all, Stark Industries is one of the most promising companies in the world."
"Sigh." Peter didn't know what to say, so he just gave Harry a big hug.
"Brother, you don't need to think like that. We're brothers, and brothers should be honest with each other. Besides, you're underestimating Mr. Stark. His technology has surpassed human understanding. This genetic disease is nothing to him."
After speaking, under the watchful eyes of the father and son, Peter drew a circle in the air, and a portal instantly appeared. On the other side of the portal were various instruments that they had never seen before.
"Come on, I'll take you to the Stark Tower's lab for a check-up."
Led by Peter, the two arrived at the laboratory inside Stark Tower, looking completely bewildered. Peter's feat had completely exceeded their comprehension; a simple swipe of his wrist had created a teleportation portal. They couldn't fathom what level of technology this was, or perhaps the super magic people had speculated about.
Jarvis appeared quickly, though this wasn't his true form, but rather an avatar. He raised his mechanical arm and scanned Harry and his son from head to toe.
About a minute later, Jarvis stretched out his arm again, and another, gentler light enveloped Harry and his son.
Once the light faded, Jarvis calmly announced, "Mr. Peter, your friend has been healed. Mr. Stark is calling you. Alien invaders have landed in the galaxy and need you to pilot the Star-Type Spider Armor."
"Oh, thank you Jarvis." Peter looked apologetic. "Harry, Uncle Norman, it seems I have to go soon. You two rest here, Jarvis will take good care of you. I'll come back to find you after I've beaten up those alien villains."
Before Peter could even respond, he had already vanished from the spot with a thought, causing a ripple to appear in the void.
Before Harry and Norman could react, they were left alone in the laboratory.
Norman felt incredibly healthy and didn't know what to say. The problem that had plagued the Osborn family for a lifetime had been completely eradicated in just a few minutes.
They gazed in the direction Peter had gone and whispered, "Long live the Star of Light!"
