21. Stark's Dilemma

"Fuck! This costs money too?" Looking at the unscrupulous doctor sitting right in front of him, Fury reverted to his "Fuck" persona.

Ji Yuan crossed his legs, subtly touched Natasha's thigh beside him, and said with a smile, "The questions you asked are beyond the scope of my duties as a psychologist. Don't you need to pay me?"

Fury's one eye widened in shock. "I know I have to pay a fee, but is this why you're charging a million for a single question?"

A million dollars for a single question—even the well-informed Fury couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed; it was just too outrageous.

Ji Yuan sat up straight, rested his arms on the table, and smiled at Fury: "You didn't ask me who you could go to? Only I can answer your question."

This is the joy of monopoly. Fury wants to know about certain supernatural things, and for now, he can only turn to Ji Yuan.

"Mare Fakr, can't you do your part for the safety of the planet?" Fury shouted, still trying to negotiate.

Ji Yuan crossed his arms and laughed, "Can't you contribute a little more money to the safety of the Earth?"

Fury: "..."

"Fine, one million it is!" Fury said through gritted teeth.

"Alright, then ask away." Ji Yuan revealed a triumphant smile.

Fury's eyes darted around as he pondered how to get the most answers to a single question. He asked, "From a human perspective, is that Ultraman good or bad?"

This was the result of his careful consideration. Currently, humanity is powerless against that being, so it's better to first figure out the pros and cons and shut up those people to prevent them from constantly harassing S.H.I.E.L.D.

Ji Yuan nodded and said, "That's good."

"That's it?" Fury asked.

"Didn't you only ask if it was good or bad? Do you want more information? Pay more, pay more and I'll tell you. We at Kamar-Taj have extensive research on different magical creatures," Ji Yuan said with a smile.

Fury glared at Ji Yuan resentfully. He didn't care about the lack of further information and asked, "Where did the creature that attacked Peter Parker come from?"

Ji Yuan said, "Another universe."

"The concept of parallel universes?" Fury asked instinctively, seemingly not very surprised.

"Yes, that's the third question," Ji Yuan chuckled in response.

"Mare Fakr!"

Fury suspected that Ji Yuan was doing this on purpose, giving vague answers to questions in order to trap him.

He then asked, "Does Peter Parker have superpowers?"

Ji Yuan nodded and said, "Yes."

He originally wanted S.H.I.E.L.D. to pay more attention to Peter, but Fury asked directly, which meant he was thinking of recruiting him. Now he could also make some extra money, killing two birds with one stone.

Fury has asked everything he was willing to pay for, and he already has a complete plan in mind. The Avengers plan and that solution must be put on the agenda.

Peter Parker also needs to find a way to get into S.H.I.E.L.D. The fact that he's coveted by beings from a parallel universe means he must have something special about him, not to mention that in the investigation report, Peter Parker is definitely a research talent.

"Is everything alright?" Ji Yuan asked.

His words about "male virility" seemed to have touched a nerve with Stark, who abruptly stood up: "You unscrupulous doctor! I paid you to treat me, not to mock your boss!"

"And another thing! I'm really strong!"

Stark's burgeoning anger was instantly extinguished as if by a downpour. He sat down dejectedly, staring at the blinding sunlight.

"The military wants me to hand over the technology to build mechs. I didn't want to deal with those idiots, but they asked one of my good friends to persuade me. I don't know what to do."
