Chapter 15 Gun Retoas
Chapter 15 Gun Retoas
Retoias felt the pressure.
Since becoming a demon general, he has rarely found himself so troubled when facing humans.
The elf's fists were as heavy as mountains, and each punch shattered several of his floating spears.
What he also feared was that guy who wielded dual swords.
"Damn it!"
Retoias waved his hand impatiently, trying to create some distance.
Demons are skilled in magic, but once a warrior gets close, it's a nightmare.
But as soon as he took a step back, Lynn's figure clung to him like a persistent leech.
"Trying to run away?"
Lynn's voice was right next to him.
With his left hand, he parried the thrusting spear with his sword, while with his right hand, he swept the spear across with a sharp, whistling sound.
Tear!
Retoas's defensive magic was torn apart like paper, and black blood splattered.
Retoas clutched his chest and staggered back, his face filled with shock and anger: "You bastard..."
Halfway through the conversation,
Kraft descended from the sky like a shooting star, delivering a powerful punch to Retoias's back.
boom!
Retoas was slammed to the ground by this blow, his body began to disintegrate, turning into countless black dust particles.
The spears that were floating in the air also disappeared.
"I'm so unwilling to accept this..."
The last sigh dissipated in the wind.
Demon general, Thousand-Spear Retoas, has fallen.
Viabel struggled to his feet and walked behind Lynn.
"Feed".
Viabel shouted.
Lynn turned around and sheathed his sword.
Thanks.
Viabel turned his head away, his voice somewhat awkward, "I owe you a life."
"Need not."
Lynn shook her head.
Viabel snorted and said nothing more, but silently made a mental note of the favor.
Northern men are clear about their gratitude and grievances.
……
After bidding farewell to Viabel, Lynn and his two companions headed towards the town of Neillesi.
On the way, Ellie brandished her broken iron sword, practicing her "ultimate move" against a dead tree stump by the roadside, accompanied by "whoosh" sound effects.
"Hey, watch where you're going."
Lynn put his hands in his pockets and gave a reminder.
"I'm not a child, I don't need to be reminded!"
As Ellie was talking, she slipped and fell into a snowdrift.
When it was pulled out, its face was covered in snow and its nose was red from the cold, but it still grinned foolishly.
By the time we arrived in the town of Niallexy, it was completely dark.
The three of them randomly chose a hotel that looked fairly clean.
Pushing open the door, a wave of heat hits you.
Many adventurers were sitting in the hall.
Lynn walked straight to the counter and slapped down two silver coins.
"Three rooms, and some food too."
"There are only two rooms left."
The boss threw the keys on the counter.
"Two rooms it is."
Lynn took the key. "I'll share a room with Kraft, and Ellie will share a room."
Dinner was very plentiful.
A sizzling lamb leg, tender stewed beef, and a large barrel of rye wine.
Ellie ate with great gusto, holding a lamb leg in her left hand and a spoon in her right, stuffing beef into her mouth, her cheeks puffed out like a hamster's.
"Mmm...delicious!"
Ellie chewed, "I almost lost my teeth from eating so much dry food! It's rare to have a good meal like this."
Kraft slowly and deliberately cut the meat on the plate, his movements as elegant as if he were attending a court banquet.
"Eat slowly, no one's going to take it from you."
Kraft pushed his portion toward Allie, saying, "You're still growing, eat more."
"Thank you, sir!"
Ellie accepted it without hesitation.
After eating for half an hour, Ellie let out a burp, slumped in her chair, and began to droop her eyelids.
"So sleepy..."
Ellie muttered, "This hero... needs to rest... Tomorrow... I still have to slay the dragon..."
After saying that, he tilted his head to the side and fell asleep on the table.
Lynn picked her up, carried her upstairs like a sack of rice, threw her into the room, covered her with a blanket, then closed the door and went downstairs.
Half of the people in the hall were gone; the rest were either talking in hushed tones or drinking silently.
Kraft sat upright, watching the flickering flames in the fireplace, lost in thought.
Lynn walked over, sat down opposite Kraft, and raised his glass. "Now it's quiet. Let's drink."
The two clinked glasses and drank it all in one gulp.
The cheap ale was spicy and burning, burning all the way down to my stomach, but it warmed me up quite a bit.
"I said, Kraft."
Lynn put down her cup. "Why did you come out on a trip?"
Kraft stroked his chin. "There are many reasons. Some I've forgotten, and some I haven't remembered yet."
"So what's the purpose of your trip to the next stop?"
Lynn asked.
Kraft paused, then began to stroke the pendant on his chest. "I need to go to Count Regentius's territory to deal with the seal."
"seal?"
"A long time ago, my former companions and I sealed away a huge creature. That seal was supposed to last for a thousand years, but recently I've felt it loosening a bit, so I wanted to go check it out."
Kraft said in a flat tone, "And also, I'll stop by to see some old friends."
"Old friend? How old?" Lynn joked.
"So old he's practically in the ground."
Kraft chuckled, "And you, Lynn, what brings you on this trip?"
"I'm going to the Land of Souls."
"The Land of Souls' Rest?"
Kraft looked up. "I did hear about that place from a human mage named something like 'Vous.' It's said that you can talk to the dead there, but I don't know if it's true."
"Volatmeg?"
Lynn was reminded of Frillie's master.
"Perhaps that's what it's called."
Kraft nodded. "Who are you going to see at the Land of Souls?"
"It's not about meeting anyone."
Lynn took a sip of her drink. "I want to go home."
"go home?"
Kraft was puzzled. "Which home? South? Or somewhere even further away?"
"It's very far."
Lynn pointed to the sky, "Further than you can imagine. There are no monsters, no magic, and no heroes there, only a group of ordinary people who worry about their mortgages and overtime every day."
Kraft paused for a moment, then laughed: "Sounds like a boring place."
"It's pretty boring."
Lynn smiled too, "But my parents are waiting for me there. They'll worry if I don't go back soon."
"Someone is worried about you and cares about you."
Kraft looked at the reflection in the glass. "That's nice."
"My former comrades and I have done many earth-shattering things."
Perhaps it was the right atmosphere, but Kraft began to recount his past in a low voice, "We saved the country, defeated the evil king, and even changed the map of the world. Back then, wherever we went, we were greeted with flowers and applause."
"But what about now?"
Kraft smiled bitterly: "Thousands of years have passed. Those countries have long since perished, and the names of those we saved, even those carved on stone tablets, have been weathered away and are no longer legible."
"There is no one in this world who knows about my past now."
An indescribable sense of loneliness emanated from this elven monk; it was a loneliness that had settled deep within his bones over the long years.
"Then tell me."
Lynn spoke.
"What did you say?"
Tell me about your story.
Lynn leaned forward, looking directly into Kraft's eyes. "Tell me about your companions, the battles you've fought, and the princesses you've rescued."
Tell me.
"That way, there will be one more person in the world who knows you? When I go home in the future, I can tell your story to the people there."
Kraft was stunned.
A flicker of emotion crossed that weathered face, but it quickly returned to calm.
"No need."
After a long silence, Kraft finally managed to squeeze out the words, "When I go to heaven, the goddess will recount my deeds and praise me."
"As long as you don't encounter that water goddess."
Lynn muttered something in a low voice that only she could hear.
"By the way, Lynn, about your body..."
What's wrong with me?
Seeing that Kraft seemed hesitant to speak, Lynn pressed him for details.
Kraft suddenly smiled and shook his head, continuing in a low voice, "Perhaps this was also the goddess's arrangement."
"?" Lynn.
How come Kraft has become a riddle sprite? He hates riddlers the most.
