However, Spac was unaware that he was so sought after. He was simply following the fireflies, traversing the sea of stars.
Along the way, they traveled and stopped frequently, visiting countless planets in a single day.
Throughout the entire journey, neither Spa nor Firefly communicated with each other. Often, the moment the spaceship landed, Sam would emerge from the cabin, ignite a fire, and take off immediately.
When Spah caught up with Sam, all that came into view was a ground covered in blue insect shells and clusters of orange flames burning wantonly.
All he could do was blink, activate [Melancholy Blues], and gather clues about the Fool.
No planet is any different.
Boom!
An explosion rang out, and orange flames burned the grass. The once green fields were reduced to black scorched earth as the fire spread.
Even though the planet was devastated, the Streamer Worms did not die; they simply developed a few fine, thread-like cracks on their bodies.
This insect was entirely blue, and at first glance, it looked no different from the insects in the barren land. But upon closer inspection, its size was significantly larger than the other one, by a full circle.
The enemy is getting harder and harder to deal with. Giving the light to the fireflies is going to be difficult.
Spall pondered for a moment, then yawned. Deep down, he had no intention of getting involved in the fight.
He squinted and shifted his gaze, seeing Sam clench his left fist and pound it against his right shoulder. The bright red flames on his body turned greenish-blue in an instant.
I will ignite the sea of stars!
As if filming a tokusatsu movie, Sam announced, his body shooting like an arrow towards the Flowing Light Bug, igniting his shell.
boom!
Another explosion rang out, creating a deep crater in the ground. The blue worm was reduced to ashes, leaving not even a fragment behind.
That's really violent... The Grammer cavalry just need to focus on bombarding everything; the natives have a lot more to consider.
Spall felt a pang of sympathy, turned his head to make sure there were no other enemies around, then half-closed his eyes and began to rewind time.
He retreated all the way back to the planet's very beginning, but he still couldn't find any trace of the Fool.
Are there no traces left?
Which planet did the Fool go to, or was he deliberately playing a trick on me?
Spah pursed his lips, feeling like he was just wasting his time. In an instant, his shoulders slumped, and he felt as if all the energy had been drained from his body.
Wow
Not far from him, he heard the flickering of flames.
Spah turned his head and saw that Firefly had somehow emerged from the mecha, crossed her knees, and sat on the ground.
In front of her, the Sam mech lay horizontally, its chest reactor glowing and spewing orange-red flames.
Liu Ying picked up a beef skewer, placed it on the outer flame, and soon the beef was cooked and put it in her mouth.
Haw!
Firefly's mouth was full of oil, her lips curled up, and two rosy dots appeared on her cheeks. She waved at Spa:
"Come on! Eat meat! Then we'll be on our way!"
Spall discovered that fireflies could only say a few words when they spoke.
"Sending me on my way? Is this my last meal before I'm executed?"
After making a joke, Spah didn't want to wait long. He took a few quick steps to the fire and grabbed a skewer of pork belly.
The meat skewers were placed on the fire, and soon they turned from red to gray, sizzling with oil that dripped down.
Spa swallowed the pork belly, and his disappointment vanished.
He chewed a couple of times, but before he could finish the fatty meat, his eyes swept to the grill next to him, and he grabbed a lamb skewer, lamb kidney, pork tenderloin, chicken wings, and chicken skin.
He took ten skewers of each type and grilled them over the fire.
"Very energetic, just like a star."
The fireflies blinked and commented.
[That's it? He's actually toned it down now!]
Silver Wolf's voice came from the phone beside him:
Back in Punklords, Spall infiltrated the Governor's banquet. Not only was he incredibly resourceful, obtaining information that even I couldn't get, but he also single-handedly emptied the entire kitchen.
[Those high-ranking officials and nobles, in the end, could only stare blankly at their empty plates. It's hilarious! Haha!]
"Ha 200 million mixed with Wuqi leeks (six) (three) Hahahahaha"
Firefly laughed too, clutching her stomach and swaying back and forth. Spah noticed that the girl looked prettier when she smiled than when she didn't.
Alright, enough chit-chat.
Silver Wolf stopped laughing, and his voice became deep:
Now, we only have one last planet to visit... Hmm! This is it, Yalilo VI.
As she spoke, her phone projected a picture. Spah shifted her gaze and saw a green planet floating in the center of the image.
From afar, the planet appears covered in lush green vegetation, with azure oceans, looking vibrant and full of life.
It seems... to have great investment value in developing a resort.
As a former member of the strategic investment department, Spah instinctively assessed the value of Arillo's assets.
Just as he was brainstorming and thinking about ways to make money, he heard a gasp next to his ear.
He turned his head and found that Liu Ying had a strange expression, her lips were tightly clenched, her eyes were flashing, and her hands were crossed in front of her body with her knuckles twisted together.
"Miss Liuying, what's wrong?"
"Oh? It's nothing, I just remembered that Xing is also on Yalilo 6 right now. According to Elio's script, I shouldn't meet her."
Liu Ying spoke softly, her eyes fixed on the screen, not glancing at Spa. But Spa noticed that the girl's ears were slightly red.
Is this... heated by fire?
Spall was slightly puzzled, but before he could ask, he heard Silver Wolf raise his voice and say with a laugh:
[The script didn't say I couldn't meet her in front of Pinocchio. I think you're just shy!]
No! I didn't!
Why is your face getting redder? Wait a minute! Didn't you say you don't read texts that aren't relevant to you?
How did you know Xing would go to Yalilo VI? Could it be that you've been secretly monitoring it all along...?
"No! You're the one who's been paying attention to her! I, I, I..."
With a "whoosh," he stood up, his fists clenched tightly, his face as red as a boiled crab. Spa even saw white smoke rising from the top of Firefly's head.
"I...I'll go to the next stop first!"
After saying that, Firefly ignored Spa, who was still grilling meat, grabbed the Sam mech, put it on, and took off flying away.
The tail fin whipped up hot air, turning the meat in Spa's hand into charcoal, which then scattered in the wind.
"I...this, this...I..."
Spall looked at the stick in his hand, lowered his head, noticed the food scraps all over the ground, and gritted his teeth.
Click!
The stick was crushed, and Spa disappeared on the spot.
Chapter 41 Yalilo No. 6
Not long after, the silver-white spaceship took off, spewing out a blue tail flame, and transformed into a shooting star, disappearing into the depths of the starry sea.
Spah, piloting the red spaceship, gave chase.
He shifted his gaze to the window beside him and saw the green planet grow smaller and smaller until it became a dot and disappeared from sight.
Spall stood in front of the control panel, his fingers flying across the keyboard as he pressed the jump command.
Clang!
The spacecraft shook slightly.
The vibration lasted only a few seconds. When he came to his senses, Spa looked out the window and found that the starry sky was no longer dark, but had appeared with streaks of silver light.
Two seconds later, the band of light disappeared, leaving only a snow-white planet, lying alone in the pitch-black starry sky.
Spall noticed that the planet was quite strange; even the oceans were the color of ice and snow, as if it had albinism.
This is... Yalilo VI?
But shouldn't it be a green vacation planet?
Spas, curious, carefully placed the console back on, lightly tapped the keyboard, and began checking the planet's parameters.
The next second, he froze.
On the screen, data flashed, showing that the planet's temperature was far below the level required for life to thrive.
Spa examined the biological traces and found the planet to be deserted, with only one city remaining as a trace of human habitation.
But these aren't the worst of it.
Spah read that the planet was filled with energies that could destroy destiny, mixed with various memory substances, creating a chaotic and complex atmosphere.
This feels familiar... Could it be...?
A vague suspicion rose in Spa's mind. He reached for the keyboard and pulled up the data analysis page.
He moved his finger and typed in the parameters. Data scrolled across the screen, and soon a report appeared:
[Yaliluo VI is caught in a core crisis!]
Spah gasped, grabbed a potato chip, stuffed it into his mouth, and after chewing a few times, his mind finally came to its senses.
The power of the star's core... can hinder the smooth flow of star orbits.
Although I used the coordinates to jump to Yalilo VI, I'm afraid I won't be able to leave here until I've dealt with the star core.
In other words, I not only have to deal with the problem of light worms.
Thinking of this, Spa grabbed the control stick, looked out the window, and saw that the spaceship that Firefly was riding had already landed and broken through the atmosphere.
"What the hell!"
Spall cursed under his breath, then followed suit, maneuvering his spaceship and hurtling towards the planet's surface.
The ship's hull scraped against the atmosphere, creating orange sparks, but soon after, its wings were covered in frost. The wind and snow lashed against the windows.
By the time the spaceship landed on the ground, it had turned into a block of ice.
Spare channeled the power of destiny, dispelling the wind and snow, and with a few effort, he finally managed to open the cabin.
He stood on the planet's surface, feeling the soft, icy texture of the snow, stomped on it a couple of times, and then raised his head.
He saw that, at some point, Firefly had changed into Sam's Armor, its entire body shimmering with orange-red flames.
"Sam, I just discovered that this planet has traces of a star core."
Spall stepped forward, trying to analyze the situation. But Firefly stared blankly into the distance, offering no response.
“I said, this planet…”
Whoosh!
The Sam mech took off, spewing out scorching flames that baked the snow and melted a crater.
At the same time, she splashed up countless snowflakes, which tumbled and hit Spah's face, making his hair and eyebrows covered in ice and snow.
[Perhaps she's still shy...]
Silver Wolf's taunts came through Spa's phone.
"..."
Spah held his head, unsure of what to say.
He didn't want to deal with the fireflies anymore, but considering that only the Grammer Iron Cavalry could locate the insects, he had no choice but to shake his head and chase after them.
He drove his hunting journey at top speed, stirring up layers of gale-force winds and swirling snow, his footsteps leaving afterimages.
Unfortunately, Sam flew too fast, and the distance between them grew wider and wider.
