Chapter 120: Not bad, but not enough.
In February of the 1493rd year of the Haiyuan calendar, the sky over the Western Sea was a clear, deep blue.
The Yoda Perfume cut through the calm sea, and the two Yoda Sea Serpents at the bow maintained a steady swimming speed.
The bright red ship was covered in a layer of flowing gold, which was Oro's gold used to maintain the ship's navigation and daily operations.
The Amazon warriors on the ship had been sent back to Amazon Lily two months ago. Shakky told Thomas in private that Her Majesty the Empress didn't want her subordinates to see her acting like a lovesick fool.
In the grand hall of the ship's mansion, there was a huge golden nautical chart table, with the outline of the Western Sea meticulously carved on the tabletop, and the locations of several key islands marked with miniature golden three-dimensional models.
Next to the table was an equally large sofa, big enough to seat five or six people side by side.
Oro sat in the middle of the sofa, wearing a simple dark shirt, with Xia Qi sitting close to his left.
Today she was wearing a burgundy leather top and black shorts, her long legs crossed, and her pretty little hands were constantly teasing Oro.
Toma sat to Oro's right, dressed in a relatively conservative off-white long shirt and dark trousers, with half of her body leaning on Oro's shoulder.
Osa sat next to Toma, furthest from Oro.
She wore an Amazon-style off-the-shoulder top with a high-slit long skirt embroidered with snakeskin patterns, and a white cape casually draped over the back of the sofa.
She sat upright with her hands on her knees, but the impatient expression on her face had lasted for almost twenty minutes.
"Could you perhaps—tone it down a little?"
Osa finally couldn't help but speak, her eyes fixed on Shakky's playful hands.
Xia Qi looked up and blinked: "Restrain what?"
"What do you mean by 'restrain'?"
Osa frowned: "You haven't been serious since we set off."
"We are on a mission, not on vacation."
"I know."
Shakky's tone was very frank; she even leaned closer to Oro: "There's no conflict. Besides, there are only four of us on this ship right now. Who are we pretending for?"
'
"alright."
Auro's voice interrupted their conversation; he patted Shakky on the shoulder.
"Xia Qi, let's get down to business first."
His voice was gentle, without any hint of blame, but Xia Qi still pouted in grievance and reluctantly stopped what she was doing.
Osha took a deep breath, shifting her gaze from Shakky to Oro, trying to keep her tone calm: "So, we're going to that island called God Valley, right?"
"right."
Oro nodded, and his right hand, which had been resting on the back of the sofa, naturally took Osa's hand.
Osa's body visibly stiffened.
Her fingers curled slightly in Oro's palm, but she didn't pull them out in the end.
"That island is a settlement of the descendants of Davy Jones."
Oro continued, his thumb gently stroking Osha's hand: "It's also the hometown of Lox D. Gibeck."
"Lox?"
Toma, nestled in Oro's arms, looked up, her beautiful short hair swaying gently with her movements: "The leader of the Rocks Pirates? So he's also a descendant of Davy Jones?"
"Yes."
As Oro spoke, he opened his arms, his right hand still holding Osha's hand, while his right arm gently encircled Shakky's slender waist.
"That's why that guy is so determined to overthrow the World Government."
Oro's voice carried a hint of emotion: "His ancestors failed in their struggle for the world against the World Government, and he wants to accomplish what his ancestors could not."
"This guy is smart and has strategic vision, but it's not enough."
"Previously, in Elbaf, I used a known coordinate of the Valley of the Gods to extract a lot of secrets about the D clan from him."
Osa felt her palms getting sweaty. She tried to pull her hand away, but Oro held it firmly, so she used her other hand to brush her hair aside to hide her unease.
"How are we, a group of strangers, supposed to go into someone's home and pry into their family affairs?"
Osha asked, trying to make her voice sound normal, "You must have had this in mind for a while, right?"
Oro turned to look at Osha, her face reflected in his golden eyes.
"Of course."
Oro spoke with an air of self-assurance: "My brothers and sisters from the Tianhai Trading Company haven't been wasting their time in the Western Sea all these years."
As he spoke, he tapped the golden nautical chart table in front of him with his right hand.
The golden patterns on the table began to flow, and several previously dim island models on the 3D map of the Western Sea lit up.
The brightest one is located in the north-central part of the West Sea, and the three-dimensional model of the island is labeled with the words "Valley of God".
"The islanders of God Valley dislike contact with the outside world; this is a tradition they have maintained for eight hundred years."
Oro said, "But traditions can change, especially when there are enough incentives."
"Ultimately, we gained some of God Valley's trust and reached a secret trade agreement—to establish a trading port on a neutral island and trade once a month."
Osa finally pulled her hand back. She stood up, walked to the golden nautical chart table, and leaned over to look at the model of God Valley.
Oro also stood up and walked over to Osa, their shoulders almost touching: "The trading day will come soon, and we will return with the trading fleet as senior inspectors of the Trade Department."
"This was agreed upon beforehand; we need to conduct a formal assessment of the trade process."
Xia Qi stood up from the sofa and stretched.
Her movement caused the hem of her leather jacket to rise, revealing a section of her firm belly.
"That sounds like a very well-planned scheme."
She walked to the other side of Oro and looked at the nautical chart table: "So what happens after we get to the island? How are we going to find what you need?"
""
Oro remained silent for a few seconds.
His gaze fell on the model of God Valley, a complex emotion flashing in his golden pupils.
Thomas came over and stood behind Oro, asking softly, "Will it be dangerous?"
"Maybe."
Oro didn't hide anything: "The people of God Valley are very wary of outsiders; they won't easily let us access the core information."
"And Lox might go back."
"Lox?" Osha thought for a moment. "Will he return to the Valley of the Gods?"
"It's very likely."
While it was said to be possible, Oro's tone was certain: "Honeycomb Island is gone, and his power in the Grand Line has basically collapsed."
"The World Government is currently cleaning up the remnants in the New World, and we are expanding in Paradise Sea. He needs time to recuperate and a safe place to rebuild his strength. What place could be more suitable than our old home?"
Xia Qi frowned: "What if we run into him—"
"Then we'll run into each other."
Oro said calmly, "In the Valley of the Gods, he dares not act rashly."
"That's his root, the place where his people live. He'll hold back unless he wants to drag the entire Valley of the Gods into battle."
Osa stared at Oro's profile: "You seem to know him very well."
"We've clashed and negotiated."

Oro thought for a moment: "In some ways, we are the same kind of people. We all want to overthrow the world government and establish a new order, but our methods and ideas are different."
E
Thomas asked in a low voice, "Will he be our future enemy or ally?"
"have no idea.
19
Oro was always candid with his woman: "It depends on whether we can find something in the Valley of the Gods."
