Chapter 50 Showdown
Chapter 50 Showdown
Tsunade went upstairs, pushed open the door, turned on the light, and a spacious and clean bedroom appeared before her.
The bedroom was simply furnished with only a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, and a small bookshelf.
The bookshelf is filled with books and various scrolls, and outside the bedroom window is a small terrace used for drying clothes.
She collapsed onto the clean and tidy little bed, the clean bedding smelling of sunshine, and Tsunade unconsciously let out a satisfied sigh.
So much happened today. She had just left Konoha during the day, and then Minato and the others were assassinated that night, leaving her feeling quite exhausted.
Damn Danzo!
I finally made up my mind to leave for a while, but now I'm going to miss it again, won't I?
Although Danzo was the only scoundrel among the high-ranking officials, after such an incident, she dared not leave easily again.
never mind…
It seems this is the will of Heaven!
In that case, no matter how things develop in the future, at least it won't all be my fault, right?
Tsunade pondered silently, her mind a jumble of thoughts, and before she knew it, she had fallen into a deep sleep.
Perhaps because of the bed, she slept very, very soundly...
The next day, at school.
"Nonou, would it be convenient for us to talk privately?"
Around noon, Minato waited at the corner of the school corridor, his gaze quietly fixed on Nono, who had just walked out of the classroom.
The gentle voice made Nono stop in her tracks. A hint of surprise flashed in her eyes. She hadn't expected Minato to suddenly come to her.
She was unaware that Danzo had been killed.
After all, he was the Hokage's assistant, such a big shot that ordinary people would have a hard time even meeting him. How could he die so easily?
So when Minato suddenly came to her door, her heart raced for a moment.
There was shyness, anticipation, but mostly nervousness and wariness.
As she pondered Minato's intentions, Nono nodded slightly.
The two arrived at the roof of the teaching building, but the roof was empty.
According to the love books that Danzo bought, many of the confession scenes took place on the roof of the teaching building!
Nonou secretly glanced at Minato's profile, trying to glean something from those deep blue eyes.
Is Minato about to confess his feelings?
Thinking about it this way, she felt her cheeks getting slightly hot.
No, no, no, calm down, Nono, don't panic...
"You...you must have been sent by Danzo, right?"
Just as Nono was lost in thought, Minato finally spoke softly and asked.
His words shattered all her illusions and pulled her back to reality.
It's been discovered...
Nonou paused almost imperceptibly, her mind instantly regaining its rationality. Her romantic thoughts were instantly suppressed, and her poker face appeared perfectly calm.
What should I do?
Should we confront them directly?
Yes!
In less than a moment, she made her decision.
When Minato looked at her earlier, his eyes were filled with scrutiny.
The fact that the other party has chosen to bring this up now likely means they have found concrete evidence.
The other party wasn't asking questions; they came to me with answers in mind.
Continuing to be stubborn will only make the other party distrust you even more.
Now that her identity has been exposed, regardless of what will happen to her afterward, this is probably her only chance to free the orphanage from Danzo's threat!
"Feel sorry…"
Nonou lowered her head slightly: "I had no choice, but please believe me, I have no intention of harming you."
"Don't be so nervous, I'm not blaming you."
Mino frankly admitted it, and a slight smile appeared on Minato's calm face: "Could you tell me why?"
"I...I'm from an orphanage."
Minato's calm attitude made Nonou feel a sense of relief.
Great, he's not angry!
Minato is indeed a very considerate person...
"Six months ago, Danzo visited the orphanage and said he wanted to select talented children for special training. In the end, he chose me because he didn't look like a good person, so I originally didn't want to agree."
Nonou's face fell as she spoke, "But he's the Hokage's assistant. He can cut off the orphanage's funding with just a word. Everyone's already struggling to get enough to eat. If the funding gets cut off too..."
"I see..."
Minato nodded; this was pretty much what he had guessed. Danzo only had this much to offer.
"What task did he give you?" Minato asked again.
Nonou glanced cautiously at Minato: "Can I use this information to make some kind of exchange with you?"
"What do you want to exchange?"
Minato chuckled inwardly; he could roughly guess the other party's request.
Without hesitation, Nonou said, "I want to exchange this for Lady Tsunade's protection of the orphanage! Don't let Danzo harm the orphanage!"
"That's all?" Minato confirmed.
This time, Nono hesitated.
She actually hoped that Tsunade could help the orphanage, at least to ensure that everyone had enough to eat and wear.
But then I thought, with so many mouths to feed in the orphanage, it's probably impossible for one person to support them all.
"If... I add one more piece of information, will it be enough to feed everyone at the orphanage?"
After hesitating for a long time, she finally asked, somewhat embarrassed.
"Can."
Minato agreed without hesitation: "Can we talk now?"
Nonou looked up in surprise. Minato had agreed so readily that she couldn't help but doubt the truthfulness of his words.
However, she has no other choice now but to accept her fate and pray that Minato keeps his word.
"Danzo's mission for me is... to gain Minato Namikaze's favor."
As she spoke, she lowered her head shyly, her ear tips slightly burning.
"He only gave me this one task, but I've been making excuses to delay it. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like it... no, I mean... I feel like this isn't right. Feelings should be something purer."
"I see."
Minato nodded: "What about the other piece of information?"
"I suspect that Danzo might be hostile to Kushina, or even to you. Although I'm not entirely sure, I think it's necessary to take precautions."
"From my previous interactions, Danzo seems to have an extremely strong obsession with becoming Hokage, and he indiscriminately hates anyone who might stand in his way."
Nonou looked at Minato uneasily. This information was originally something she was worried the other party would abandon the orphanage and keep as a last resort.
"I see..."
Minato paused, then cleared his throat and said in a serious tone, "Well... Nonou-kun, thanks to the intelligence you obtained while infiltrating, the rogue ninja Shimura Danzo was killed last night!"
Nonou was taken aback: "Huh?"
"It means that bastard has been killed, down to the roots."
Minato chuckled lightly: "Speaking of which, this is all thanks to the information you provided."
"How...how could this be?"
Nonou stammered, "That's the Hokage's assistant! Could it be the Hokage...? Besides, I didn't give you any information before..."
"Who said that? Didn't you tell me with your eyes, and I understood what you meant?"
Minato blinked and said in a light tone, "I can't go into the details, but Danzo is indeed dead."
"Then... does the exchange we just made, where we were well-fed and warmly clothed, still count?"
Nono asked hesitantly, then felt ashamed and lowered her head.
"Well... what can I do? It's something I promised, after all."
Minato laughed lightly, his sunny smile seemingly warming the surrounding cold air by several degrees.
Nono stared blankly at the boy in front of her, a thousand thoughts surging in her mind.
In a daze, a sudden heat welled up in the corner of her eye, her vision gradually blurred, and tears uncontrollably slid down her cheeks.
She was still just a five-year-old child. When the grievances and pressure she had recently suffered were suddenly released, Nonoyu could no longer control her emotions and burst into tears.
Fortunately, although she couldn't control her emotions, she could still control her body.
Before her tears even fell, she threw herself into Minato's arms.
