Chapter 25: Dream
Chapter 25: Dream
In the dark alley, the boy walked along, carefully glancing around to avoid being seen by anyone clutching a small purse in his hand.
This contains all his current wealth... but it doesn't matter, as long as he has money... with money... he can go back to La Noa... he can...
"Bang!"
Just as he was thinking this, the boy bumped into a man who came out from around the corner. The two collided, and the thin boy was sent flying and rolled several times on the ground. The money bag he was clutching in his hand also fell to the ground, and the few mineral coins inside rolled and hit the man's shoes.
"You brat, do you want to die?" the man glared at the boy and said fiercely, "Are you blind?"
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry!" the boy hurriedly said, lying on the ground in a sorry state. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have... I shouldn't have..."
"It really shouldn't have been like that." The man's cloudy eyes darted around, his gaze gradually shifting to the coins scattered around the boy.
"Consider this money your compensation to me!" the man said, bending down and grabbing the somewhat shrunken money bag.
"No...no!" To everyone's surprise, the boy immediately stood up, staring at the man and saying, "No, this is all my money!"
"No?" The man raised his fist at the boy. "I think you want to die, don't you?"
The terrified boy could only mutter, "No..." but his hands and feet trembled with fear.
Seeing his timid appearance, the man seemed to become interested. He slapped the boy on the forehead, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground. Looking at the boy curled up on the ground, the man licked his lips and kicked the boy.
"Ugh!"
Hearing the boy's screams, the man revealed a slightly cruel and perverse smile: "Don't you know who I am, kid?"
"The entire Demon Continent knows my name." He said, reaching out and grabbing the boy's hair, pulling him up by the hair.
After carefully examining the terrified face beneath the blond hair, the man licked his dark, protruding teeth: "Where did a tender-skinned human like you come from?"
"Is it a man or a woman?"
"I...I..." The boy was so frightened that he couldn't utter a single word.
Seeing him like this, the man's interest grew even stronger. He reached out and pinched the boy's face, saying, "I know you tender-skinned humans best... you scream the loudest in bed."
"After becoming a slave, he was more obedient than anyone else."
"No...no...I don't want to be...a slave! I'm not..." the boy cried out, struggling. "I am Prince Edward of the Kingdom of Lanoa...I am a prince!"
"If you're willing to let me go home... I'll repay you!"
"A prince?" The man paused for a moment before asking, "A prince from which kingdom?"
"The Kingdom of Lanoa! The Kingdom of Lanoa! It's on the Central Continent!" the boy cried out as if he had found a lifeline. "I'll give you one hundred Asura gold coins... no, three hundred!"
"As long as you... Bang!"
Before the boy could finish speaking, the man slapped him across the face again.
"What bullshit Kingdom of Lanoa? Never heard of it." He shook his head with a laugh. "But I'd love to test the prince's ass."
As he spoke, he pressed down on the struggling boy with one hand, while using the other hand to unbuckle his belt.
"Waaaaah!" The boy, his mouth covered, could only whimper, tears and snot mingling together. But this only seemed to embolden the man before him. He looked at the boy with smug satisfaction and said, "Cry, I'll make sure you can't cry anymore after tonight!"
As he spoke, he pulled down his pants, revealing his dirty shorts.
"I'm coming..."
"Clatter".
"Clatter".
Just then, a series of light footsteps approached, causing the man to show an unpleasant expression.
"Which idiot is trying to ruin my fun?" he said, slowly getting up and looking in the direction from which the voice came.
"Huh?"
A clear, cold voice rang out, followed by a girl with an expressionless face walking out from the street corner. She was the most beautiful girl Edward had ever seen in his life. She had hair as white as the snow of the Kingdom of Lanoa and eyes as red as the rubies on his father's crown.
She stood quietly in the dimly lit alley, her gorgeous red and black dress looking completely out of place.
Upon seeing her appearance, the man clearly showed a surprised expression, which then quickly turned into... a disgusting... lewd thought.
"I've never seen such a beautiful woman before..." he said, opening his arms to the girl.
No…no…the boy seemed to have seen what happened next. He wanted to shout for the girl to run away, but for some reason, he was so scared that he couldn’t even open his mouth.
She could only watch helplessly as the man rushed towards the girl.
"So...humans are truly disgusting creatures." The girl shook her head, then raised her right hand and gently bit it.
A drop of blood fell from her index finger, then turned into a red line in the boy's astonished eyes.
"puff!"
The line lightly brushed across the man's neck, making a soft sound.
Immediately afterward, the man didn't even let out a scream; he maintained that disgusting expression, but his body swayed and he collapsed.
Then, in Edward's eyes, red blood flowed onto the ground.
"..."
The girl who had killed someone flicked her right hand, and the blood on the ground immediately rose to the surface, gradually congealing in front of her before finally disappearing onto her raised index finger.
Is this...is this magic?
Edward had seen... seen magic, something the Kingdom of Lanoa was proud of...
"Th-thank you... thank you." The magic eased his fear, allowing him to stammer, "Thank you for... for your help."
"You weren't scared out of your wits?" The girl raised an eyebrow in surprise, staring at the boy for a few moments before asking, "You just said you're a prince of the Kingdom of Lanoa... is that true?"
"Yes...it's true!" Edward said hurriedly, "I am Edward...Edward Lanoat, my father is Claire Lanoat...I am the second prince of the Kingdom of Lanoat!"
"Interesting." The girl chuckled softly. "It's not too different from the name I remember..."
"How could a boy from the Demon Continent know these things..." she muttered, then asked, "Well... shall we make a deal?"
"A...transaction?"
"I'll take you back to the Kingdom of Lanoa... and you'll make me the principal of Lanoa University."
"May I?"
The red eyes reflected an eerie light in the moonlight, making Edward feel a chill run through his body.
then……
"Ha...ha...ha..." He suddenly woke up from his dream, looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar ceiling above him, and gasped for breath.
He reached out and touched the blanket, finding it soaked with his own sweat.
Was I just dreaming?
I never expected to dream about ten years ago... the scene when I first met Miss Sylvania ten years ago.
He pursed his lips and then took a deep breath...
He turned his gaze back to the moon outside the window.
The moonlight was just right, just like the day they met... except that the man, now a king, felt completely different under the moonlight.
"I'm sorry... Miss Sylvania..." he murmured to himself.
Sorry.
