Chapter 3: Conspiracy
Chapter 3: Conspiracy
Watching Loki leave, somewhat dazed, holding the silver coin, Cinderella raised an eyebrow slightly, then slowly sat down.
What an innocent girl… She shook her head with a sigh, realizing that she had been blinded by blood and had actually said such things.
Five years ago, Catherine became the president of La Noah University, and in the five years since, she has not admitted any students. The reason is simple: besides being a little lazy, she is also busy with something else.
Sidrin slowly got up and walked into the inner room, which was covered with all sorts of scrolls and magic circles, scattered on the floor, all for one purpose.
That is home. Cinderella's home is not here, but in a faraway place called Earth, where Cinderella, as a noble progenitor of the vampires, possesses supreme power. Her clan secretly controls the nation, and her race influences the world from the shadows...
Of course, all of this changed after she took a nap.
Sidlin never expected that a simple hibernation would lead her to this strange world upon waking. This world was similar to the Middle Ages of her previous life, but magic was not hidden beneath the surface of this ordinary world; rather, it was a power known to everyone.
Fortunately, even though she came here alone, Sidrin still possessed her innate power—the power to control blood…
With this power, she was able to survive in this other world, and before she knew it, she became the principal of Lanoa University... but the matter of going home was delayed.
Ultimately, Cinderella isn't from this world. Aside from water, which is remarkably similar to blood, her knowledge of other forms of magic isn't particularly advanced... and for this reason, the search for a way back has remained stagnant.
But at least she's a vampire, isn't she?
Time is the cheapest thing.
"Pat...pat."
Just then, there was a knock on the office door.
"Miss Sylvania." The voice outside the door was all too familiar to Cidlin. She nodded gently and said, "Please come in."
"Clatter".
The door to the room was pushed open, and a handsome young man with blond hair and blue eyes walked in. He smiled and nodded when he saw Cinderella, then casually sat down in the chair in front of her.
"I just saw a lot of students cleaning up."
"Give them something to do, so they won't always be gossiping behind your backs, right?" Catherine said casually, picking up the jug to pour a glass of wine for the young man in front of her.
But the young man slightly extended his hand and said, "I've come here to discuss something important with you."
"For the Second Prince to refuse to drink... that must mean it's something very important." Sidlin nodded knowingly. "Is it about the kingdom?"
"That's right, Miss Sylvania." The young man, known as the Second Prince, nodded slightly. "My father's health has been deteriorating lately."
"Even with magic, the chances are slim." He paused, then continued, "According to the royal physician... Father's time is running out."
"So according to the will... your brother will inherit the throne, right?" Sidrin paused, then continued, "Humans are so boring, killing each other over worldly power."
The second prince showed no anger upon hearing this; he simply shrugged lightly. "Believe me, Miss Sylvania, no one but my brother would want him to be king."
Even newborn babies cry in protest, and even the very old cough in protest.
"Alright...alright...I know what kind of person he is." Cidelina had a deep impression of this first prince of the Kingdom of Lanoa, after all, he had said he wanted to take her as a concubine the first time they met...
He's truly the first person to be this bold.
"The plan is simple, Miss Sylvania," the Second Prince said slowly. "I have already convinced most of the nobles in the country to support me."
"And he also prepared a meticulous plan to succeed his father to the throne immediately after his death."
"That sounds like it doesn't matter whether I'm there or not," Cicelyn said, shrugging her shoulders and then leaning back lazily in her chair.
"Of course... there are a few variables in the plan." The second prince paused, "Among the supporters of the first prince are a Water God Sword King and a Fire Saint Mage."
"They are the First Prince's staunch supporters, and cannot be bribed or threatened..." The Second Prince paused, then continued, "If a war were to break out... many people would die a violent death."
"You humans are always like this... finding some high-sounding reasons to do wrong things," Cinderella said casually.
Seeing her like this, the second prince wasn't angry, or rather, he was used to it, and said, "Who doesn't envy you vampires?"
"Possessing immortal life and immense power." He shrugged. "If I had to choose, I'd rather be a vampire."
"Believe me, you won't think that way once you actually become one," Catherine said, bowing slightly. "Since those two are so troublesome... then give me their names."
"As we agreed before... I will help you with this... but..."
"But after this, we're even." The second prince said with a wry smile, "To be honest, I'm not actually planning to use up this agreement here."
"But there's nothing we can do, isn't there?" Catherine took a sip of wine. "Whether it's for power or for wealth... it's all about life and death."
Her words made the second prince gently shake his head: "Why can't someone do it for the country?"
"Are you kidding me?" Cidel raised an eyebrow. "Your brother hasn't even been king yet..."
“I’m not joking… because I’ve seen… or rather…” the second prince paused, “Anyway, believe me… he won’t be a good king.”
"And I swear in the name of Edward Lanoyate... that I will do better than him."
"Perhaps." Cidel shook her head noncommittally. "Give me the list... I'll get it done within a week."
"I understand." Second Prince Edward nodded gently. "You will receive the list tonight."
As he spoke, he slowly stood up and straightened his clothes: "Miss Sylvania, if there's anything I can help you with... please don't hesitate to tell me in the future."
"These kinds of things are usually said after success."
"Because I don't think you'll fail." Edward smiled slightly and walked towards the door, but halfway there, he suddenly turned his head slightly as if remembering something: "I have something I want to ask you."
"Regarding Lokishi Migrudia... she's a student at La Noa University, right?"
Catherine raised an eyebrow upon hearing this: "Hmm... there is such a person."
Edward looked at Cidelyn's expression but didn't say anything more, only nodded slightly: "I just saw her, she's a very pretty girl."
"Then I must remind you... she is my student."
"Is that so?" Edward raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. "Then I'm sorry... I may have offended you with my words just now."
Watching him leave, Cinderella shook her head slightly and then closed her eyes.
