Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 83
Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 83
The recommendation wasn't edited out, but I've contacted the editor and it will be available tomorrow.
Let's take this opportunity to talk about some of the questions that everyone is most concerned about.
1. Main storyline.
The pace of this book was set from the very beginning: daily life + original content + original plot. You should be able to tell from the earlier parts of the story.
There's not much to say about the daily routines; it's just lighthearted and funny with a few little perks. As for the original content, it will basically extend some of the original settings. For example, the opening event on the Island of the Demon's Ruins. Well, I haven't seen many people complaining about the plot design of this original work. It's just that the final satisfying moment might not have been handled ideally (mainly because I realized that as the opening plot was a bit long, so I cut some words). I will learn from this experience.
Then there's the original plot. There definitely won't be a situation where a new protagonist is added and the story unfolds exactly as it was. For minor plot points that don't have much to change (like Lalabai), the focus will be on the protagonist's perspective, while Natsu's side will be glossed over. Places like Karuna Island will be given more attention, and there might inevitably be some overlapping plot points with the original work, but definitely not many, and the protagonist will be integrated into the story.
As for the length, considering the current word count and the progress of the original work, we can make some predictions.
2. Combat strength
Many readers see that the protagonist is an S-rank character right from the start and conclude that the story won't go far. However, if you carefully review the Fairy Tail storyline, you'll find that the protagonist has no chance against the bosses later on without S-rank strength.
Initially, I planned to start with an A-rank storyline, add a few short story segments, and then have Lucy join the cast. However, looking back, it seems unnecessary. Fairy Tail without Lucy always feels like something is missing.
Returning to the issue of combat power, if anyone still thinks the protagonist is too strong and the story is unrealistic, then I'll provide a power level chart to make it clear:
T0: Forbidden God Ankhseram, God of Time, God of the Sky, etc. (Yes, the outline includes a storyline about fighting gods, since Yugi Muto's deck happens to have several gods.)
T1: Black Dragon, White Zeref
T2: Igniel, Five Dragons, Imperial Twins
T3: Twelve Shields, Normal Dragon
T4: The Four Heavenly Kings of Ishgar, Guild Masters of the Dark Guilds (Average)
T5: Holy Ten
T6: S-Class
Looking at it this way, the protagonist's positioning is quite clear: starting between S-class and the Ten Saints is the most reasonable.
The most criticized aspect of Fairy Tail is the collapse of power levels in the later stages, so some adjustments will be made later to prevent it from becoming too mindless.
P.S.: The Sky Dragon that everyone is looking forward to won't be released for now. After all, its prestige is what it is, and it would be beneath it to use it to deal with early-game bosses. However, the Sky Dragon's God-Slaying Magic (like manually summoning lightning bolts) will be available soon, and the fusion will be completed quickly, around the time after defeating the Ghost.
3. Female lead
The outline of the whole book has been basically written, but to be honest, it's really hard to say about the female lead, because I'm not very confident about the romance.
In my opinion, whether or not there is a female lead is not up to the author, but rather to the readers. If the romance is well-written and relatable, it will flow naturally; otherwise, the whole thing will feel stiff and unnatural.
However, there will definitely be a female lead in this book. Attentive readers will notice that there are some descriptions of her in the beginning. Although the main theme is "card gamers' passionate battles", there will be some risqué elements occasionally. The only thing that can be confirmed is that there won't be too much romance (we'll see how it goes later). It won't be a mindless harem. At most, it will be two female leads.
4. Update
I'll update five chapters tomorrow night at 8 PM. If I can finish writing them, I'll update them all at once. If I can't finish, I might leave two chapters for later, since I'm not very good at writing. From now on, I'll update 6,000 to 8,000 chapters a day.
I won't be doing anything like average subscriptions, monthly tickets, or bonus chapters for now. If the writing is good, people will naturally be willing to vote, and more votes will naturally lead to better results. Better results will naturally give the author more motivation to update. That's probably the bond between us, haha~
However, if possible, I hope everyone can at least give it a first subscription to make the data look better. Compared to One Piece and Naruto, Fairy Tail fanfiction is really too difficult.
If any book lovers who want to grow their reading habit trust me, you can also enable automatic subscription or something. Thanks!
Thank you to all the big shots who have been silently voting and supporting me, and who have endured all the weird and annoying things to get here. I wish you all great wealth!
