Chapter 2 Slaughter
Chapter 2 Slaughter
The secluded path winds and twists its way forward.
Huo Yuhao emerged from the dense forest beside him and walked forward along the path.
This path was quite hidden, but it led directly to the place where the steward and his guards had to leave the woodshed.
He kept his head down, holding several fresh fish strung together with vines in his hand.
Their hurried steps conveyed a strong sense of timidity.
The steward, who had just finished reprimanding Huo Yun'er, spotted Huo Yuhao's figure in the distance while walking along the road.
Especially when he saw the fish Huo Yuhao was carrying, a hint of delight flashed in his triangular eyes.
"This maid gave birth and managed to get fish again! Looks like the brothers will have an extra meal tonight."
The manager grinned, his voice tinged with a hint of mockery and smugness.
He is used to bullying others by taking advantage of his power, so he is already familiar with this kind of thing.
Before Huo Yuhao could even get close, the steward strode up to him.
The guards following behind him were not surprised at all, and they all had smiles on their faces as they watched a good show.
In their view, this was just another instance of routine oppression.
Huo Yuhao is nothing but a lowly servant's son, what trouble could he possibly cause?
Although Huo Yuhao is already ten years old this year, boys tend to develop later, and coupled with years of not having enough to eat or wear, he is even thinner and smaller.
Compared to the obese manager, he was more than a head shorter.
The steward walked up to Huo Yuhao, looking down at him and completely blocking his path.
Huo Yuhao seemed startled, and his body trembled slightly.
Seeing this, the manager was even more pleased with himself.
"You wretched servant girl!" the steward roared sternly. "You spend all day catching fish instead of working properly? You've really gone too far!"
He cursed as he reached out to snatch the fish from Huo Yuhao's hand.
The action was rough and barbaric, just like it had been done countless times before.
The steward grabbed the vine that was tying the fish to him and pulled hard, trying to snatch the fish away.
But this time, the vines didn't budge.
Huo Yuhao gripped the vines tightly, showing no intention of letting go.
The steward was taken aback, and before he could retaliate again, a flash of cold light appeared before his eyes.
It's so fast it's almost impossible to react.
Immediately afterwards, a thin red line appeared on the manager's neck.
Bright red blood beads slowly seeped from the wound, growing larger and more numerous.
A stinging pain came from his throat, and he instinctively reached out to cover his neck, his fingers immediately becoming stained with blood.
The steward stared wide-eyed, opened his mouth as if to say something, but could only let out a weak "hoarse" sound.
He couldn't understand how this submissive maidservant could suddenly become so ruthless.
Isn't he afraid of the Duchess's punishment?
These thoughts flashed through the steward's mind, but he never had the chance to think about them again.
The steward's body went limp and he collapsed.
All of this happened in an instant.
Huo Yuhao slit the steward's throat with a single stroke, without even blinking.
He didn't even look at the steward lying on the ground, but rushed forward before the guards could react.
He slammed the fish he was carrying into the faces of the guards.
After all, he couldn't very well bring a few fish home with him afterwards.
The guards were still in shock and had no idea that Huo Yuhao would suddenly launch another attack.
One of the guards was unable to dodge in time and was hit head-on by the fish.
He screamed and covered his face as he backed away.
Huo Yuhao immediately lunged forward and kicked the guard in the chest.
A crisp sound of bone cracking was heard.
The guard groaned and spat out a mouthful of blood, flying backward.
He fell heavily to the ground, clutching his chest and howling in pain.
The other three guards were all shocked.
They never imagined that Huo Yuhao, who was usually bullied, would have such skills.
They were all strong and robust guards.
In terms of physique, Huo Yuhao's thighs are probably not even as thick as their arms.
Yet this frail child managed to break the guard's ribs with a single kick!
Isn't that maid's son's martial spirit a useless spirit eye?
How can someone have such great strength?
If they looked closely, they would notice that Huo Yuhao's blue eyes had quietly turned gold.
His pupils also transformed into thin lines, like a dragon's eye.
The screams of their companions finally brought the remaining three guards back to reality from their shock.
They hastily activated their martial spirits, and spirit rings appeared beneath their feet.
Two of them had two white spirit rings under their feet.
As their martial spirits were released, their figures suddenly grew taller, and thick black and brown fur grew on their bodies, clearly indicating that they possessed some kind of beast martial spirit.
The other person had two spirit rings, one white and one yellow, at their feet.
With a flash of light, a long spear appeared in his hand. The spear shaft was dark and dull, but the tip gleamed with a chilling light.
After the three were imbued with their martial spirits, they seemed to have become bolder, and their faces all showed ferocious expressions.
The Duchess had long wanted to find a pretext to completely eliminate Huo Yun'er and her son.
Now that this maid's son dares to rebel, isn't this exactly what I wanted?
If they can capture the maid who gave birth to the child and then inform the Duchess, they will surely receive a generous reward.
Thinking of this, the smiles on their faces became even more sinister.
However, before reaching the Soul Master level, a Soul Master's physical attributes are not significantly stronger than those of an ordinary person.
The White Tiger Dagger in Huo Yuhao's hand is a level-five soul tool, extremely sharp.
Moreover, at this moment, the Golden Dragon King Divine Core in his mind is continuously supplying him with a vast amount of vital energy.
The guard wielding the spear launched the first attack.
He let out a low roar, his spirit rings glowed slightly, and he hurled his spear like lightning, heading straight for Huo Yuhao.
Clearly, he wanted to pin Huo Yuhao down in one blow.
Huo Yuhao's eyes flashed with golden light, and in an instant, the trajectory of the flying spear fell into his sight.
He leaned slightly to the side, stretched out his left hand, and firmly grasped the spear shaft.
The spear's spin came to a swift halt in his hand.
He lightly weighed it in his hand and felt that the spear was a little too light.
With a flick of his arm, the spear flew back along the same path at an even greater speed.
The black-haired beast spirit guard was so fast that he didn't even have time to react.
With a "thud," the spear pierced through his chest.
Blood splattered, staining the ground red.
The spear-wielding guard had never anticipated such a turn of events.
Before he could even reassemble his spear, Huo Yuhao had already pounced on the brown-haired beast spirit guard.
The brown-haired guard couldn't dodge in time and was hit squarely by Huo Yuhao, his body falling backward.
A cold glint appeared, and the White Tiger Dagger pierced his chest as easily as cutting tofu.
Huo Yuhao twisted his wrist slightly and pulled, and blood gushed out.
"what!"
The brown-haired beast spirit guard let out a shrill scream.
Huo Yuhao, pressing down on him, frowned slightly upon hearing the scream, then punched the guard in the face.
With a "crack," the bridge of his nose broke.
The guard's head drooped limply, and he remained motionless.
The last spearman, witnessing this bloody scene, turned deathly pale, his legs trembling uncontrollably.
He was so terrified that he forgot even the thought of running away.
He opened his mouth, wanting to beg for mercy, but no sound came out.
A flash of white light appeared, and the sharp white tiger dagger was embedded straight into his brow.
In the end, he could only collapse helplessly to the ground, and fall silent.
Huo Yuhao stepped forward and pulled the White Tiger Dagger from between the guard's eyebrows.
Blood beads slid off the dagger.
He then walked over to the guard who had been kicked away first.
The guard lay on the ground, his eyes filled with pleading.
Huo Yuhao showed no mercy and, with a swift stroke, ended his life.
He examined them carefully again, adding several more cuts to each body to make sure they were all completely dead.
Then he put the nearly ten gold soul coins he had taken from the steward and guards into a small storage ring he had found on the steward.
He looked at himself again and saw that his clothes were not stained with too much blood.
So he took some blood from the corpses and smeared it on his clothes and face.
Fortunately, this was the edge of the White Tiger Duke's mansion, and apart from the mother and son, few people passed by.
This also meant that the fight just now went unnoticed by anyone.
However, we still need to leave the White Tiger Duke's mansion with my mother as soon as possible, otherwise problems will arise sooner or later.
Thinking this, Huo Yuhao picked up the fish that had been scattered on the ground and planned to take them elsewhere to dispose of them.
He used the skills he learned in his previous life's Extreme Individual Soldier Project to his advantage at this moment.
They began to disguise the scene, erasing as many traces of the battle as possible to buy themselves and their mother more time to escape.
