Wow! Equipment from the world of Azeroth can actually function as treasures!
Would the Emperor's sword, if equipped to an angel, be even more effective?
Rhodes planned to exchange weapons with the angel when he got back, since the weapon wasn't permanently bound to the angel's use anyway.
"So, Lord Rhodes, do you like this staff?"
“I like it very much, Lord Kael'thas.” Rhodes nodded with a smile. After all, adding even a little bit of power was equivalent to a level one treasure. How could he not like it?
Trading a stone golem for a level 1 treasure—that's a fucking steal! We wish we could have more deals like this!
I have several more of these stone figures in my possession!
If a staff can enhance one's power, then can magic robes, magic hats, or jewelry, rings, bracelets, or even boots and clothes also do the same?
At this moment, Rhodes had the same idea as the Monkey King Sun Wukong: when he came to the Dragon Palace, he had to get some armor.
"Lord Kael'thas, I wonder if you could provide me with a set of equipment?"
Magic robes, magic hats, bracelets, rings, and accessories—I'm too lazy to ask anyone else for them.
"If you'd like, I can trade you another Titan creation. What do you think?" Rhodes said.
"Hahaha! Lord Rhodes, if you have any needs, Quel'Thalas is naturally willing to provide them."
"Robes, cloaks, rings, magical trinkets, bracelets—you name it," Kael'thas said.
They high elves may lack much else, but they have plenty of magical items. One of the high elves' industries in Dalaran is selling all kinds of magical equipment.
So Rhodes found the right person this time, under Kael'thas's instructions.
Soon a group of high elf maidens brought a set of equipment: a magic robe, a magic hat, two ornaments, two bracelets, two rings, a cloak, and a necklace.
Chapter 83: The Stubborn Mage Gifts a Full Set of Equipment, the Treasure Holy Light Greatsword
"These are all standard equipment for mages, Lord Rhodes. I've picked out the best for you. These bracelets, rings, magical ornaments, and necklaces were all crafted by the most skilled jewelers using the finest magic." Kael'thas happily showed Rhodes his equipment.
Robe: The Sunweaver's Robe increases Rhodes's mana regeneration and also comes with a lava shield.
Cloak: Windseeker's Tassel, which can greatly increase the damage of magic in the world of Azeroth, but unfortunately it does not increase strength or intelligence.
Crown: Arcane Domination Ring. It is not a traditional pointed hat, but an exquisite mithril headband. The main body of the headband is entwined with phoenix tail feathers, and a pure arcane focusing gem is set in the center.
This crown was unexpected for Rhodes. It increased his strength by 1 point, bringing his total strength to 7. Its effect is to increase the damage of arcane magic and to resist a certain amount of mental attacks.
Next are two rings. These two rings together increase Rhodes' magic power by 5 points, which is roughly equivalent to 0.5 intelligence. However, when combined with the two magic accessories, the four pieces of equipment successfully increase Rhodes' intelligence by one point.
The remaining piece of equipment is the necklace: Phoenix Heart Pendant. This treasure was created by Kael'thas using rare minerals from the Fire Elementals, also known as the Fire Elemental Plane, combined with his own phoenix blood.
Equipping this treasure gave Rhodes a small surprise: it increased fire magic damage by 25%, including magic from Heroes of Might and Magic.
In other words, one's own curse possession and blindness will be amplified, and even the number of fire elementals summoned will increase, by at least 25%.
It doesn't add any attributes, but it works perfectly with the Fire Element Scroll. This equipment is pretty good.
The set of equipment added 2 points to Rhodes' Strength and 1 point to his Intelligence, bringing his Strength to 7 and his Intelligence to 9.
At the same time, the spells in the world of Azeroth have been greatly enhanced, and a new Fire Elemental upgrade has been added.
Rhodes looked incredibly imposing in his new outfit; if you didn't look closely, you might even mistake him for a high elven mage!
"Lord Kael'thas, you are too kind. I am very satisfied with these magical equipment."
"In that case, I can't be stingy! I have two more of these special stone golems left, so I'll trade them to you together!" Rhodes smiled, then produced the remaining two stone golems and placed them on Kael'thas's body.
Exchanging level 3 soldiers for treasures is such a great deal, and by staying by Kai's side, they can keep track of the battle situation at any time. The garrison troops are like the eyes of a hero.
"Haha, I'm glad you like it, Lord Rhodes. I can't speak for other things, but if it's magical equipment, Quel'Thalas's is the best, because we only make the best." Kael'thas smiled, praised his own equipment, and then accepted control of the two stone golems that Rhodes had given him.
Today was also a great day for him. Three creations of Titan magic, with powerful magic resistance, would be perfect if he could thoroughly study them and install them on the arcane golems of Quel'Thalas.
Both parties were very satisfied with this transaction, and Kael'thas even specially invited Rhodes to stay and prepared a sumptuous dinner.
Rhodes and Jaina were treated to a delicious meal, during which Rhodes enjoyed the service of the high elf beauties, though this was limited to pouring drinks and listening to music.
Late that night, accompanied by Kael'thas himself, Rhodes and Jaina left Kael'thas's mansion.
The female mage looked at Rhodes with surprise, never expecting that Rhodes would have a creation given to him by the Titans, and that he had even traded it to Quel'Thalas.
Just how many good things does this guy have? The two chatted and laughed as they returned to the mage tower, and then went back to rest.
The female mage will begin contacting the Kul Tiras army tomorrow, and Rhodes also plans to take some time to meet with Antonidas and inquire about King Terenas's intentions.
After returning to his room, Rhode immediately took the Holy Light Greatsword from the angel. The moment he received the Holy Light Greatsword, Rhode received a system notification.
A level 5 treasure has been discovered, named Holy Light Greatsword. Equipping it increases attack power by 10 points and grants the magical effects of Holy Light Sanction and Holy Light Healing.
Each round, you can consume 0 mana to cast Holy Light Judgment, which consistently deals 100 damage. Holy Light Heal can choose a target and restore 100 health to them without consuming any mana.
Not bad! Adding 12 points of attack power is quite an awesome item, and it also comes with two spells, which are somewhat similar to Titan's Arrow.
This thing doesn't consume any mana; you can use it as long as you equip it. However, it deals 600 damage, but this weapon can also restore 100 health points to the target, which is pretty awesome.
This thing would be more valuable if it were given to a melee hero; 12 points of attack power is no joke. But unfortunately, Rhodes' only melee hero right now, Qiang Ge, is an undead creature and doesn't quite match the Holy Light.
For now, we can only let the angels use it. Or we can try the Lightforged Undead another day! After Princess Calia was killed by Sylvanas, she became a Lightforged Undead.
This explains why there are priests among the Forsaken who use Holy Light. Back when I played World of Warcraft, many players complained about the fact that undead could choose priests to use Holy Light.
However, according to the chronicles, the undead who needed to use Holy Light in the plot were actually priests in life, and they only practiced using Holy Light in secret, never daring to use it in public.
At least in the lore, the Forsaken will never possess the Holy Light; this only came into being in patch 8.0 and 9.0.
After testing the power of the Holy Light Greatsword, Rhode returned it to the Angel, hoping that a qualified melee hero would be able to use this weapon in the future!
There was nothing to say all night, and it was early the next morning.
Rhodes planned to visit Antonidas and discuss with the public leader of Dalaran the possibility of leading a portion of the Dalaran population westward to Kalimdor.
However, the mage Antonidas did not seem to want to set off in a hurry, and even suggested that the fleet be dispatched a few months later.
“Mage Rhodes, or rather, Baron Rhodes, I don’t think it’s necessary to bring so many people with you on this trip to Kalimdor. You are just an advance force.”
“Mage Antonidas, the Titan Guardians have said that a calamity is about to befall us,” Rhodes said.
"There was indeed a great disaster before, but that disaster is completely over. Our alliance has won once again, and the Scourge has been ended," Antonidas said with a smile.
During this period, he dispatched a large number of mages to various places, and the investigation results received a unified reply: the undead calamity had disappeared, and all the undead had vanished.
Arthas even sent messengers to inform his father, King Terenas, that he was about to return. The Alliance was no longer too concerned about the westward journey to Kalimdor, and there was even a lot of opposition.
“Master Antonidas, I hope you will reconsider. Lordaeron has already agreed to send 3 people to accompany me on my westward journey,” Rhodes said.
“I’m sorry, Mage Rhodes, your position in Dalaran is not high enough to initiate decisions or influence the resolutions of the Kirin Tor Council of Six. You persuaded King Terenas, but you did not persuade me,” Antonidas said, shaking his head.
Rhodes proposed heading west to Kalimdor. He had already convened the Kirin Tor Council of Six, as well as some members of the Mage Council, to discuss the matter. However, most people were unwilling to go to the continent of Kalimdor, as many believed that the Scourge had ended.
“Mentor Antonidas, I think you should reconsider. The Kingdom of Lordaeron has completed the ship repairs, and the Kul Tiras fleet will arrive soon,” Jaina said.
“Alright then! I’ll send 100 mages to accompany you to Kalimdor in the west, but they’ll only be on a reconnaissance mission,” Antonidas said, waving his hand.
Now that the Scourge seems to have been resolved, the Alliance no longer seems to need to send troops across the ocean. In the end, Antonidas only agreed to send 100 mages to accompany Rhodes and Jaina on their westward journey.
Rhodes smiled helplessly upon hearing this. Jaina wanted to say something, but Rhodes stopped her. The two then bid farewell to Antonidas and left.
“I’m sorry, Rhodes, I can’t convince my mentor and the mages of Dalaran,” the female mage said with a sigh.
The stubbornness of the Mage Council was beyond imagination, and Rhodes had been busy transforming into angels of holy light, so he didn't have time to persuade these mages.
“I had pretty much expected this. Without external pressure, naturally no one would be willing to leave their homeland,” Rod said with a sigh.
In the original timeline, a large number of Lordaeron citizens, Dalaran mages and residents, high elves, dwarves, and even Stromgarde residents followed the female mage.
But by then, Lordaeron had already fallen, King Terenas was dead, and even the high elves' Silvermoon City had fallen. It was only then that the Alliance's leadership sensed the crisis and was willing to unite to form a fleet.
He had only managed to persuade King Terenas of Lordaeron, and now Arthas had sent a letter, making Rhodes highly doubtful whether the Lordaeron fleet could set sail on time.
"Rhodes, what are you planning to do now?" Jaina asked.
The only people confirmed to be leaving are the citizens of Lordaeron and the Kul Tiras fleet.
“Let’s go to Lordaeron first and see King Terenas!” Rhodes said.
Chapter 84 Mutation: Arthas Returns Ahead of Schedule!
It was still noon, so Rhodes didn't delay and immediately had the female mage use teleportation magic.
With a flash of blue teleportation magic, the two headed towards the capital city of Lordaeron.
Rhodes and Jaina, who had been teleported there, were welcomed by the court mages of the Kingdom of Lordaeron and informed King Terenas.
Half an hour later, Rhodes and Jaina arrived at the palace to meet King Terenas.
The old king received Rhodes and Jaina very warmly.
"Baron Rhodes, and Gina! You've come at just the right time; I was just about to send someone to deliver a message to you!"
"You actually came here on your own. It seems you also received news of Arthas's victory." King Terenas was beaming with pride, a triumphant smile on his face. He was incredibly proud of his son.
“Congratulations, King Terenas. It seems His Highness the Prince will be back soon,” Rhodes said, forcing a smile.
Your filial son is coming back soon!
We need to get the immigration issue sorted out quickly, otherwise we'll have to find an excuse to get King Terenas to agree to send the ships and immigrants to a port near Dalaran first.
First, go and rendezvous with the Kul Tiras fleet. This will prevent you from being massacred by Arthas's army in the royal city.
"Haha, so this is a surprise. I received a letter from Arthas a few days ago. Arthas said that the expeditionary force would arrive in Lordaeron in a month."
However, during his battles in Northrend, he encountered a powerful mage who helped him achieve victory against the Scourge.
And we will be teleported back to Lordaeron together today. Arthas asked me to invite you two to his welcome banquet.
"And he asked me to tell you that he misses you and Gina very much, and that you must stay in the capital of Lordaeron to meet him," King Terenas said eloquently.
Upon hearing this, Rhodes was stunned. What was going on? Arthas was coming today?
Rhodes's lips twitched twice. What the hell was this mage? Could it be that the Dreadlord or the Lich King had pulled some kind of trick again?
Jaina, standing to the side, looked at Rhodes with a shocked expression, and then at King Terenas.
“Baron Rhodes, your westward fleet may depart a few days later. I would like to have my son and his friends embark on the westward journey together.”
“You young people can have a good chat. You have a common language and can look out for each other. I think the great Titan Guardian wouldn’t mind waiting a few more days!” King Terenas said.
