There were no words, only the pure, long-suppressed killing instinct erupting.
The shockwave generated by her telekinesis was enough to tear apart a tank; the air condensed into invisible blades at her fingertips.
This is a tough battle!
Hawke swore that this was absolutely the strongest opponent he had ever encountered, bar none.
They were dozens of times stronger than the four-person combat team, the Clay Doll Group, that appeared in New York.
Just outrageous!
Hawke was in a tough fight.
His energy absorption field was under tremendous pressure, and the heat rays were repeatedly deflected by the opponent's agile and unpredictable movements and powerful psychic shield.
The opponent's strength, speed, telekinesis, and combat instincts were all at a terrifying level.
In order to end the battle as quickly as possible, Hawke had to use two of his reserve skill cards.
Thermal radiation lv1→lv2
Energy absorption lv1→lv2
"Buzz!"
Hawke instantly unleashed a burst of energy pulse that covered a large portion of the core area, forcibly interrupting Gu Ziyun's relentless attack rhythm.
In the instant her body stiffened from the energy shock, Hawke closed in!
His fist was so fast that it left afterimages, and it slammed heavily into Gu Ziyun's crossed arms as he tried to block.
The immense force caused the alloy floor to crack beneath her feet. What followed was a furious, close-quarters combat frenzy!
Gu Ziyun's pride in speed and telekinesis proved insufficient against Hawke's comprehensive suppression, whose anticipation, strength, speed, and energy defense were all at an unparalleled level.
"Bang!" A side kick with a tricky angle, containing an explosive burst of energy, sent Gu Ziyun flying, crashing into the thick alloy wall and leaving a human-shaped dent.
She slid down, kneeling on one knee, breathing heavily, and spitting out a mouthful of blood.
For the first time, those empty eyes showed intense emotional fluctuations—shock, resentment, and a hint of...bewilderment?
Hawke stood before her, looking down at her, his breathing slightly rapid but his eyes still cold and sharp.
He stretched out his hand, dangerous energy pulsating in his palm: "You can continue until I shatter you completely, or..."
His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable, penetrating force: "Come with me. Leave this cage, leave those who treat you like a tool. I need power, but I won't use you as a expendable resource. You can... choose to be yourself."
Gu Ziyun raised her head, her blood-stained cheeks appearing particularly vulnerable in the flashing red alarm light.
Those empty eyes stared intently at Hawke, as if trying to discern the truth or falsehood in his words and weighing the cost of further resistance.
The obedience program forcibly instilled within her clashed violently with her yearning for freedom.
After a moment of deathly silence, her tense body gradually relaxed, the ferocity in her eyes slowly faded, leaving only deep exhaustion and a faint curiosity about the unknown?
She asked a question:
"Can I go...to a nightclub...and drink fake alcohol?"
Hawke almost lost his composure upon hearing this question; his lips twitched. He wanted to ask, "Can't I have real liquor? I can afford it!"
However, she eventually nodded. Fake alcohol is easy to get drunk on, and Gu Ziyun definitely has a high metabolism; real alcohol wouldn't make her drunk at all, so she wanted to try the fake alcohol...
Gu Ziyun didn't speak, but lowered her eyelids, which was taken as tacit agreement with Hawke's suggestion.
Finding the second-generation witch, Shin Si-ah, would be much easier.
She looked a year or two younger than Koo Ja-yoon and was kept in a more "comfortable" but also more secure observation room, like a delicate doll.
Hawke, who had read the original book, knew that this second-generation witch was an even more terrifying being than the first.
She not only possesses a physical body and melee combat abilities comparable to the original, but also greatly enhances her telekinetic abilities.
At this moment, her eyes were clear yet filled with deep fear, like a frightened fawn.
Hawke did not display any force.
He offered gentle yet powerful emotional comfort and a simple promise:
"Don't be afraid. The outside world is vast, with sunshine, ice cream, and freedom. Would you like to come with me to see it?"
The girl's defenses crumbled in the face of pure kindness.
She nodded timidly and took Hawke's outstretched hand.
Hawke violently removed the micro-trackers implanted in their bodies and, using the disguises and cargo ship routes prepared by Andy, silently brought the two girls with astonishing powers back to the American mainland... The whole process was like a meticulously crafted magic trick.
When the private jet landed at a secret airport in the suburbs of New York, John Lane and Andy were already waiting in the hangar.
John saw two girls following Hawke, one cold and aloof and the other timid. He raised an eyebrow slightly, strode forward, and hugged Hawke tightly: "It's good that you're back."
His gaze swept over Koo Ja-yoon and Shin Si-ah, scrutinizing but not hostile. "These two are...?"
“Gu Ziyun, Shen Shiya,” Hawke introduced. “They need a fresh start.”
He didn't elaborate on the details.
Andy gave an intellectual smile, her gaze sweeping over the lingering marks of restraint on Gu Ziyun's wrists and Shen Shiya's clear yet uneasy eyes, before calmly saying, "Welcome to New York, ladies."

At this moment.
Hawke gazed at the New York lights outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, toying with a delicate brass lighter in his hand.
His fingers moved deftly, the lighter leaping, flipping, disappearing, and reappearing between them, so fast that only afterimages could be seen.
"King..." he murmured to himself, a slight smile playing on his lips.
He adopted this code name three years ago and used it to fight crime on the streets of Brooklyn.
This identity was also used in this operation.
The phone screen lit up; it was an encrypted message from Andy:
[Everything is ready. The list has been 'leaked' as planned. The bait is in the water.]
Hawke Lane smiled slightly, picked up the remote control on the table, and pressed it gently.
The massive floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall instantly transformed into a screen, displaying constantly scrolling global financial market data and several encrypted communication windows.
The city lights outside the window were still shining brightly. Footsteps came from outside the door, very light, with the caution of a feline.
Gu Ziyun stood at the door of the study, wearing a well-fitting casual outfit that Andy had sent. Her face, now clean of blood, appeared pale under the soft light.
She was carrying a tray with a steaming cup of coffee and a sandwich on it. Her movements were stiff, and it was clear that "service" was more foreign to her than murder.
"Put it on the table." Hawke didn't look up, his fingers flying across the virtual keyboard as he processed a report on Bates Capital's recent suspicious fund flows.
Gu Ziyun put down the tray as instructed, but did not leave. His gaze swept over the complex data streams on his screen and the file summaries marked "high priority".
She didn't speak, but Hawke could sense that the power within her was in a low, dormant state, like a dormant ember.
“At the base, they only teach you how to destroy,” Hawke finally stopped pointing, picked up his glass and took a sip. “Nobody teaches you how to live or think about ‘why’.”
Gu Ziyun's eyes flickered, but he remained silent.
"Andy will arrange everything for you. Identity, accommodation, basic life skills training."
Hawke pointed out the window, “The rules are different in the outside world. Power isn’t the only passport. Observe, learn, and execute precisely when I need you.”
His tone was flat.
Gu Ziyun's lips twitched slightly, as if she wanted to ask when she could go to a New York nightclub to try the fake alcohol of the big city, but after thinking about it, she kept quiet for the time being and simply nodded slightly in response.
A moment later, another, much lighter footstep sounded.
Shen Shiya poked her head in like a curious little bird.
She changed into a pink sweatshirt with a cartoon cat print, her hair was simply tied up, and her face showed both nervousness and barely suppressed excitement at arriving in a new environment.
“Mr. Hawke…” Her voice was soft and sweet, with a noticeable Korean accent. “Sister Andy said…we can have our own room? Really? It’s big? And we can see the lights outside?”
Her eyes sparkled, filled with the simplest imagination of "freedom"—a space of her own, free from surveillance cameras.
Hawke's expression revealed a hint of a smile.
The girl's innocence was like an unpolluted mirror, reflecting the darkness of the base.
“Yes, Shiya. It’s a very large room. Do you like the lights on? The whole city would be lit up at night.” He pointed to the huge floor-to-ceiling windows.
Shen Shiya followed his finger and exclaimed softly, "Wow...it's just like in a TV drama!"
She turned to Hawke, mustering her courage to ask, "Then... what should I do in the future? Sister Ju said we should listen to you..."
She glanced cautiously at Gu Ziyun beside her.
“Just be yourself, Shiya,” Hawke said gently. “Go and familiarize yourself with your room first. Andy will teach you some basic life skills.”
"Would you like to draw? Or read a book? Either is fine."
“Your ability is quite special. Perhaps… we can slowly explore how to make it more interesting, rather than scary.”
He emphasized "fun" rather than "useful".
What this girl needs is guidance and a sense of security, not to be immediately thrown into cold, impersonal tasks.
Shen Shiya's eyes lit up even more: "Drawing? Really? I... I've only ever secretly drawn on paper before..."
She nodded vigorously, a genuine smile blooming on her face. "Thank you, Your Majesty!"
She clearly remembered the code name Hawke had casually given her, finding it both mysterious and cool.
"I have another question!" Shen Shiya raised her arm like a well-behaved student.
"hold head high?"
"What were you and that aunt doing in the room just now? Your voice sounded a little shy?"
Shin Shi-ah's innocent voice rang out, and the atmosphere suddenly became deathly silent. Koo Ja-yoon, who was standing next to her, quietly took a few steps back, awkwardly covered her eyes, and turned her head away.
Hawke blinked and said, "The soundproofing alone cost me two hundred thousand dollars..."
Koo Ja-yoon quietly interjected, "But it's still somewhat clear to us. However, Mr. Hawke, you are truly amazing!"
