Chapter 68: Vanished into Ashes
Chapter 68: Vanished into Ashes
The night wind howled in the plaza of the Extreme Martial Arts Academy headquarters.
Atkin hovered in mid-air, his planetary-level fourth-tier primal energy radiating a dazzling light against the night sky. He looked down at the iceberg and beasts guarding the headquarters' main gate.
"Iceberg, my patience is limited."
Atkins's voice, amplified by primal energy, echoed across the square, causing the alloy glass of the surrounding buildings to vibrate.
"Whether the First Speaker is still alive or not concerns the future of all humanity. Your Extreme Martial Arts Academy must give us an explanation today."
"If the resident really needs treatment, our HR Alliance has the best medical equipment and life-saving drugs, and can provide support immediately."
Iceberg clenched his fists, his knuckles cracking slightly. He looked up and responded coldly.
"The curator's order is to see no one. Atkin, if you dare to force your way in, you will be executed."
The beast standing beside the iceberg pointed at Atkin in the sky and cursed loudly.
"Atkin, you opportunistic, treacherous scoundrel! When the curator was around, you were like a little coward, barely daring to breathe. Now you come here pretending to be some big shot."
"You beast! How dare you openly insult the Fifth Speaker!"
Behind Atkin, several planetary-level senators, also suspended in the air, instantly unleashed their primal energy, radiating an undisguised sense of threat.
Atkin waved his hand to stop his men, his face now bearing a pained expression.
"Since the Ultimate Martial Arts School is determined to go its own way, for the sake of the future of all mankind, I, Atkin, have no choice but to offend them today."
"Fellow councilors, please come in with me to invite the First Speaker to emerge from seclusion and take charge of the overall situation."
As soon as he finished speaking, Atkin and eleven other planetary-level powerhouses combined their primal energy to form an immense pressure that slammed towards the gate of the Limitless Martial Arts Hall.
Iceberg and Beast's expressions changed, and under this combined pressure, they retreated repeatedly. The high-level war gods behind them were even more flushed, struggling to breathe, and some of the weaker ones even lost their footing.
Just as Atkin was about to wave his hand to order the general offensive.
A muffled rumble suddenly came from the horizon.
Atkin stopped his swinging hand and looked in the direction from which the sound came with surprise and uncertainty.
A sudden, unexpected feeling of palpitation coursed through his body like an electric current.
In the distance, the night sky was torn open by some force, leaving two huge gaps. Two energy fluctuations that made even planetary-level experts tremble were approaching the headquarters of the Limit Martial Arts Academy at an alarming speed.
"On alert! Everyone, on alert immediately!"
Atkin screamed in horror, his body trembling uncontrollably.
Two dazzling beams of light, carrying a terrifying aura, slammed heavily into the center of the square.
With a deafening roar, the alloy-cast ground cracked inch by inch, sending rubble and metal fragments flying in all directions. The massive shockwave transformed into a white blast of air that swept outwards, knocking low-level martial artists off balance and even causing distant fighter jets to screech as their armor scraped against each other.
Before the dust had even settled, a despairing, star-level pressure swept across the entire area.
Atkins, who was the first to be hit, fell straight down from mid-air, his body suspended in mid-air.
His knees slammed heavily onto the ground, creating two deep craters. He felt as if a mountain was pressing down on his shoulders, his fourth-tier planetary-level primal energy completely suppressed, leaving him unable to muster even a trace of power.
The ten planetary-level councilors behind him were in an even worse state, some kneeling on both knees, others pressed to the ground, unable to move.
As the dust settled, two tall figures emerged from the center of the deep pit under the square lights.
A man dressed in the simplest black training clothes held a black spear, his eyes deep and calm.
The other person was dressed in a purple-black combat uniform, carrying a battle knife, with a mocking smile on his face, and was looking around the scene with great interest.
It was Hong and the Thunder God.
Upon seeing the two, the beast excitedly waved its fists and shouted in a hoarse voice.
"Master of the Hall, Lord Thunder God."
Hong simply nodded slightly to them, signaling them to retreat with their men.
Thor walked up to Atkin, who was kneeling, with a smile.
"Oh, isn't this our Fifth Speaker of the War God Palace?"
"What are you trying to do by making such a big show of things, bringing so many councilors to the headquarters of our Extreme Martial Arts Academy?"
No one dared to speak in the entire square; even their breathing was done cautiously.
Atkin knelt on the ground, struggling desperately to lift his head, his eyes filled with horror and fear.
He forced a smile that looked worse than crying from his trembling face.
"First Speaker, Second Speaker, you are both alright. This is truly a blessing for all of humanity."
"I'm just here on behalf of everyone to visit the two speakers. It was Iceberg and the others who insisted on stopping us, which caused a small misunderstanding. It really is a misunderstanding."
Thor sneered, straightened up, stroked his chin, and turned to Hong beside him.
"Brother Hong, look at this old guy, his acting is really terrible. Wasn't he just yelling that he was going to break into the martial arts gym for the future of humanity?"
"Now it's been turned into a visit. They can even make shamelessness sound so respectable."
His gaze swept over the ten members of parliament who were lying on the ground.
Hong took a step forward.
"visit."
Hong's voice rang out.
"The Earth has just experienced a catastrophe, and countless ordinary people are still rebuilding their homes in the ruins."
"You are planetary-level councilors, yet you are here pressuring my martial arts school in your struggle for power and resources."
Immediately afterwards, a layer of black light curtain expanded outwards from him.
The sixth layer of light.
The square, spanning several hundred meters in radius, along with Atkin and the ten senators, was plunged into darkness.
Atkin and the ten senators were horrified to discover that they could not make a sound, their bodies were locked in place by an invisible force, and even the surrounding space seemed to freeze, imprisoning them. Except for their eyes, which could still move, everything else, including the primal energy within their bodies, was out of control.
Hong slowly raised his right hand, extended one index finger, and pointed it at Atkin, who was kneeling in front of him.
"Since you're so eager to take charge of the overall situation for humanity, then I'll give you an explanation."
Atkin frantically rolled his eyes, trying to convey his despair and pleading through mental energy. But in this realm, all mental fluctuations were blocked.
Hong simply bent his index finger, which was pointing at Atkins, downwards slightly.
Atkin, kneeling on the ground, began to disintegrate from the inside out.
Before he could even let out a scream, he was silently reduced to ashes in full view of everyone, drifting away in the wind.
The ten imprisoned councilors witnessed this scene firsthand, and their psychological defenses crumbled. But because of the confinement, they couldn't even beg for mercy; they could only remain in their imprisoned positions, standing there like statues filled with fear.
Hong slowly withdrew his finger, and the black domain dissipated. The plaza was lit again, as if everything that had just happened was merely an illusion.
Hong turned around and calmly spoke to a camera at the edge of the square.
"From today onwards, those who participated in the coup will kneel here for thirty days."
"Anyone who dares to create internal strife or plot treason during this period will face the consequences."
Thor walked over to Hong and put away his playful expression.
"Brother Hong, this place is all taken care of. As for Yan Hai, that old fox, in Jiangnan City, I'm afraid Yao Rao can't handle him alone."
Hong turned his head and looked in the direction of Jiangnan City.
The night wind rustled his black training clothes, and a flash of murderous intent crossed his eyes.
"Let's go to Jiangnan City."
"Those bastards who were plotting behind the scenes, none of them will live today."
After saying that, the two of them flashed and transformed into two streaks of light, tearing through the night sky and flying rapidly towards Jiangnan City.
