Chapter 272 Revisiting the Wasteland
Chapter 272 Revisiting the Wasteland
Chapter 272 Return to the Wasteland
Earth 21923, New Vegas.
The original name of Hammerfall was changed to New Vegas, a suggestion made by Peter. After all, Hammerfall was located on the site of the former Las Vegas, making it a perfect symbol of a new era. It was also the name of a game Peter really liked, which happened to be a post-apocalyptic game.
Hawkeye was stunned when he saw Magneto. The original Magneto with dementia from Earth 21923 was killed by Anansi. Now there's another Magneto, and he's even younger.
He leaned closer to Peter and whispered, "Is this Magneto... a good guy?"
"I guess I'd consider myself a good person now..."
Magneto is probably a good person now, after all he's been through, he's almost only thinking about atonement.
To be honest, I don't know if it was the Marvel writers' malice, but whether it's the wasteland universe or the zombie universe, Magneto is always the scapegoat. In the zombie universe, he brought the zombies, and in the wasteland universe, if he hadn't killed Scarlet Witch, then perhaps Thor could have turned the tide.
He can only be described as Marvel's go-to scapegoat.
"I brought these things; you might find them useful."
Magneto brought over a large pile of junk he had collected from the battlefield, including a lot of superhero equipment. Old Hawkeye's eyes lit up when he saw it. This was good stuff! They were just wondering how to deal with Red Skull and his army.
Moreover, Magneto's arrival has an advantage. Anansey was only driven away a few months ago, and there are still many places that don't know Magneto is dead, or are unsure if Magneto is really dead. If a good guy like Magneto comes here and impersonates him, it can greatly help Hawkeye and the others solve their problems, and it can also deter many restless fools.
"Hahaha, thanks for thinking of all this, Eric." Hawkeye laughed quickly. "Don't worry about us here or your affairs. Just treat this place as your new home."
This is indeed a new home. If these people travel to other universes, they are likely to run into their counterparts, which would cause a lot of trouble. Unlike here, most people are already dead, and it's been more than forty years since then, so there's no chance of encountering someone with the same name.
Wanda and Xuanyin looked around. The wasteland universe looked much more desolate than their world, but this was their new home.
Magneto paused for a moment, seemingly wanting to say something but ultimately remaining silent. Perhaps in the future, he will tell the people of this universe the truth.
The next one to emerge was Ashe, but no one paid him any attention, and he didn't care about himself either; he was just waiting for Doom to come out so he could go to other worlds. But Doom didn't come out; instead, Strange did.
He had already hidden the Necronomicon well; even Peter didn't know he had taken it out.
A moment later, Doom came out, but only one Doom came out. He looked at the people around him and finally gave a brief explanation.
"The other one, worried about the safety of his people, chose to stay in his own universe and destroyed the multiverse shuttle. Spider-Man, you don't need to go."
Huh? What happened?
Peter looked at Doom with disbelief, but Reed patted Peter on the shoulder and shook his head.
"What's done is done, Spider-Man. There's no point in saying anything now. Alright, we'll have to rebuild a multiverse shuttle here, which, according to Strange, will cause less damage to the universe."
"The least damage will occur if you don't traverse the multiverse."
Strange rolled his eyes at them, but Reed just shrugged: "Who knows? But it's perfect, we can help out here. When we're traversing the multiverse, we can adjust the return time. It's possible for us to spend about half a month here while only four or five hours pass on the other side."
"This will be a good opportunity to help this universe."
Without a doubt, the addition of Magneto, Scarlet Witch, X-Rayon, and Black Panther has injected a completely new energy into the Sunset Red Avengers and the wasteland universe. Neither the aging Red Skull nor Doctor Doom are destined for a good end.
Furthermore, Doom's opinion of the local Doom was extremely low. He had no idea what the Doom of the wasteland universe was up to, creating a wasteland world in a place with a complete power vacuum.
Utterly worthless.
Peter, who hadn't noticed Ash recklessly crawling into the portal to the next universe, suddenly remembered something and looked at Reed.
"Dr. Richards, are you still able to build a device to communicate with the Observer? I have something I want to ask him."
"What's wrong?"
"In the universe of Zombie Sentinels, are there any survivors?"
Earth Z.
With the help of Spider-Man from another universe, Sandman, who underwent a transformation, and Rhodey, the former War Machine and now Iron Man, wiped out all the zombie heroes, and the world was restored to peace—there were no more zombies.
So the Sandman and Rhodes looked at each other in bewilderment.
They won, and then what? The world was destroyed, nothing was left, and even the entire universe was devoid of life.
What will their victory bring?
While the two remained silent, a portal opened, and then someone who surprised them both stepped out.
"Okay, hopefully the time and location coordinates provided by the observer are correct. Hey, what's that pile of bones on the ground? Am I seeing my own bones?"
Spider-Man?
Rhodes looked at Peter in disbelief, and asked uncertainly, "Are you really Spider-Man?"
"Yes, but not your Spider-Man. Considering you've already seen a Spider-Man from another world, I won't go into further introductions."
Peter then made his suggestion: "I just rescued a group of survivors from another zombie universe, and the Observer told me about you guys—your universe is now just the two of you alive, right? How about moving? For example, to a world where a supervillain wiped out the heroes, and they ruled for decades, turning Earth into a wasteland or something."
"Sounds like they really need help." Rhodes looked at the Sandman, or rather, the modified Sandman whose every grain of sand had been replaced by nanobots that devoured carrion. "What do you think, Flint?"
"Anywhere is better than this wretched place."
"Okay, let's go."
With the Observer's teleportation device activated, War Machine and Sandman arrived in a completely new world. It didn't look like a wasteland at all, because there were skyscrapers standing side by side and all kinds of high-tech equipment running around.
"This belongs to Reed Richards of our universe; is it considered toll and lodging fees?"
Ash ultimately looked down on many universes, only to find that the portal's energy ran out after she arrived in the zombie/werewolf universe—a very darkly humorous situation.
