Chapter 58 Dragon Knight and the Key to the Gate
Chapter 58 Dragon Knight and the Key to the Gate
"This isn't quite what I imagined." Jaeger looked at the lifelike block version of the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon in front of him, pondered for a moment, and said, "Poison Mist, could you check if this thing has any 'consciousness'?"
If it has consciousness, then even if it doesn't have a real biological form, it's still like building blocks transforming inanimate objects into living things.
If not, it means that the corresponding LEGO module's bio-module simply creates something resembling a biological mech.
"Let me see." Upon hearing this, the poisonous mist spread out, wrapping around the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon like a spider web, and quickly seeped into the gaps between the building blocks.
A few seconds later, Jaeger watched as black and white light emerged from the tree bee dragon's eyes, and a voice from within the poisonous mist immediately came out: "Landon, this guy has no independent consciousness; it's more like some kind of machine loaded with basic AI functions..."
"But I can go inside and control this dragon," Poison Mist added.
Under the control of the poisonous mist, a true consciousness entity, the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon's movements instantly became more agile, and for a moment, disregarding its appearance, it resembled a real creature.
"It seems that even without real dragons, the effect of the biological modules working with you is about the same... or rather, even better." Jaeger nodded.
After all, even if a new creature is created by using building blocks, the other party may not listen to them.
Besides, even if they are obedient, their intelligence may not be comparable to that of the poisonous fog, nor have they developed a tacit understanding with it like the poisonous fog has.
"Alright, let's go check out that rift in the world." Jaeger leaned forward, his hands gripping the balcony railing. "And let you get used to the feeling of flying too."
Poisonous Fog: "Yes, Langdon, I'm ready!"
As it said this, the Hungarian thorn bee dragon, controlled by the poisonous fog, flapped its wings and lowered its body to the edge of the balcony.
Jaeger chose to avoid the part of the tree bee dragon's spine where white bone spikes grew, and sat on the broad back near the tail.
He bent down, grabbed the protruding parts on both sides due to the block structure to stabilize his body, and then spoke: "Tony left coordinates before, we just need to fly upwards according to where he said."
Jaeger glanced at the remaining time to return to the normal timeline; 20 minutes or so should be enough.
The moment Jaeger finished speaking, the poisonous fog flapped its wings, and a powerful wind pressure spread out instantly, stirring up the surrounding seawater.
At the same time, Jaeger felt his body sink and was carried straight upward by the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon, and for a moment he was enveloped in the wind!
It wasn't until the poisonous fog reached a height where it wouldn't be seen by people in the surrounding sea that it slowed down and began to fly upwards smoothly.
Even so, Jaeger, whose hair had been blown into a mess within just a few minutes, coughed a few times in a disheveled state, his gaze sliding over the words that had just appeared before his eyes:
[A new achievement has been unlocked!]
[Achievement Completed - "Dragon Knight"]
[Unlock condition: First time riding any dragon, complete one flight.]
[PS: You rode a dragon? Very well, then let me recite a classic line:]
This is Berkshire. It snows for nine months of the year and hails for the other three. The food here is tough and tasteless, and the people here are incredibly resilient. The only good thing is pets; elsewhere you might have ponies or parrots, but we have dragons!
"How to Train Your Dragon?... But isn't the Hungarian Hornet Dragon from Harry Potter?" Jaeger's quip was blurred by the biting wind high above.
As they flew, they rose higher and higher, soon approaching the coordinates Tony had left behind.
To Jaeger's dismay, there was nothing at that coordinate...
"Too late, the world rift has disappeared?" Jaeger had the poisonous fog lead him around the coordinates several times, but he didn't see anything that could be considered a rift.
"After all, something like this is unlikely to exist for long," the poisonous mist said. "Two universes connected for an extended period could very likely have very dire consequences..."
"That's true." Jaeger thought for a moment. "However, according to Tony, the World Rift wasn't actually caused by the Energy-Eating Worms... So how did it form?"
There was no answer to this question for the time being, but Jaeger suddenly noticed something.
"This is...?" Jaeger leaned closer.
It was a grayish-white mist that was easy to miss if you didn't look closely.
grayish-white mist?
Jaeger couldn't help but think of the Fog Raven, and then of the place he had arrived at when he used the Unknown Identity Card, a place almost entirely shrouded in grayish-white mist.
This made him pause slightly, and then he tentatively reached out and touched it.
The moment Jaeger touched the mist, it instantly dissolved into his fingertips!
A new card has appeared on the void card table.
It was a silver-edged card, the image of which was a silver key covered in intricate patterns.
You have received a special brand item.
[Item - Key to the Gate (1/?)]
【grade:???】
[Description: A key used to open a door.]
The key... Jaeger narrowed his eyes, about to examine it further, when a familiar bright light suddenly burst forth from the card table in front of him!
[Returning to the normal timeline]
...I forgot about that.
Jaeger could only regretfully stop, and then everything went black before his eyes. His consciousness was pulled and he plummeted downwards.
