32. Treasure Turtle
32. Treasure Turtle
Fu Ning nodded and pulled a small black Den Den Mushi from her soft breasts.
"Yesterday, I used this eavesdropping Den Den Mushi to overhear communications from the nearby Navy. The Buggy Pirates and the Krieg Pirates are currently active in that area!"
"very good!"
Norton's eyes lit up: "This is a golden opportunity!"
Locating a pirate crew on the high seas is extremely difficult; without an accurate intelligence system, it's purely a matter of luck.
The White Pearl, which carries Sanosuke, is clearly not associated with the word "good luck."
"Where did you get this Den Den Mushi?" Nami asked, taking a sip of her drink as she watched Funing pull out a Den Den Mushi and moving closer to Funing.
"It's a gift my dad gave me before he passed away!"
Fu Ning opened her palm and placed the small black Den Den Mushi in front of Nami.
This herbivorous animal, which resembles a snail, has never left the world stage since humans discovered its potential for communication.
Among them, the black Den Den Mushi (snail phone mushi) is a peculiar species that likes to exchange messages with its own kind, and is therefore often used as a listening device. It is rarely seen on the market, almost never circulated, and is very rare and precious.
"The communication principle of Den Den Mushi is to convert human voices into radio waves for transmission. It needs to mimic the user's appearance to achieve targeted transmission. But Black Den Den Mushi exchange messages with their own kind, allowing humans to intercept the communication..." Fu Ning explained to Nami.
"Great!" Nami excitedly took the black Den Den Mushi. "Do you have any extras? I want one too!"
At least on the island where Cocoyasi Village is located, Den Den Mushi are expensive, and rare varieties are so rare that even money can't guarantee you a purchase. This is the first time Nami has ever encountered such a valuable item as a Black Den Den Mushi.
Kro adjusted his glasses: "The price of Den Den Mushi varies from island to island, fluctuating greatly, because transporting goods over the sea is a very difficult task."
"The islands are separated from each other by the vast ocean."
"The inability to exchange local specialties has made Den Den Mushi, a communication tool that is rampant on certain islands but has wide applications, so expensive worldwide."
"However, in a few years, once shipbuilding technology is updated and navigation becomes easier, the price of Den Den Mushi may drop."
Kro calmly analyzed.
"Ultimately, it's because the islands can't be connected!" Norton's lips curled into a slight smile. "So I want to build a unified empire! So the sea will no longer be an obstacle!"
"Something like this..."
Norton took the black Den Den Mushi from Nami's hand. Nami pouted slightly, looking somewhat unhappy.
"I want to make these things affordable for ordinary people! Goods of sufficient value shouldn't be monopolized by the powerful and wealthy!"
Kro coughed, as if startled by Norton's remarks, and quickly changed the subject.
"Speaking of which, we were talking about the Buggy Pirates and the Krieg Pirates, right? I've heard of those two pirate crews; their captains are a Devil Fruit user with a bounty of 1500 million and a pirate admiral with a bounty of 1700 million..."
"How much is your bounty?" Fu Ning suddenly asked.
"1600 million," Klose replied, adjusting his glasses.
"It seems neither of these two are easy opponents!" Funing nodded. "We'll need Norton to handle them personally!"
"Strength is not judged by bounty. Bounty only represents the World Government's level of attention to pirates... As a bounty hunter, I know this better than anyone."
Zoro, without anyone noticing, had already put down Sanji's collar and sat back down.
"Bounty hunter? In my opinion, you're more likely to get killed by pirates!" Sanji retorted promptly.
"You lecherous cook!!"

Amidst the joyful and chaotic atmosphere, the Norton Pirates arrived at the sea area mentioned in the information that Funing had intercepted from the Navy—the sea area where Buggy and Krieg were active.
However, after circling this sea area several times, the Norton Pirates did not encounter either Buggy or Krieg Pirates.
"Could we have the wrong people? Or have they already left this area?" Kro pushed up his glasses and wondered.
"No," Funing shook her head. "They should still be in this area. Even if Krieg left, Bucky won't leave."
"Because, according to what I overheard, the Buggy Pirates are looking for a turtle carrying treasure!"
A turtle carrying a treasure?
Upon hearing this, Norton pictured a sea turtle with its shell covered in gold.
"Carrying a treasure?!" Nami practically wanted to turn her eyes into the shape of a treasure.
"Hey, are you guys talking about that?" Zoro suddenly pointed to a spot on the sea.
Everyone looked in the direction Zoro pointed.
What I saw was... a turtle carrying a treasure chest?!
It was a turtle about three meters long, with nine treasure chests chained to its back, and it was currently floating on the sea, basking in the sun.
After being watched by everyone, the turtle lazily glanced back, then sank into the sea and swam away quickly.
"Follow that turtle!" Norton immediately ordered.
"Huh? King, aren't we going to look for the Buggy Pirates anymore?" Fu Ning was taken aback.
"Catch that turtle first!" Norton pointed to the turtle's shadow. "Aren't you curious about what's in those nine treasure chests?"
"I am curious..." Fu Ning muttered.
"Then let's chase after them!!"
"Listen to Norton!" Nami patted Funing on the shoulder and pointed in the direction the treasure chest turtle had swum away.
The White Pearl changed course and sped off in pursuit of the Treasure Chest Turtle!
The Treasure Chest Turtle was incredibly fast, and the White Pearl couldn't catch up with it for a while.
The Black Cat Pirates and the Baratie restaurant followed behind the White Pearl, but could only watch helplessly.
A dozen minutes later, the treasure turtle dived into the sea and disappeared without a trace.
"Norton! What are you doing!" Nami turned around, suddenly blushing and covering her eyes.
Norton took off his shirt, revealing his muscular physique, and grinned: "Of course I chased after it! I'm not going to let this novelty get away!"
"Boom!"
Suddenly, everyone heard the sound of cannons.
"What happened? Did it go off?" Fu Ning frowned.
"No! It's another ship! There's a ship nearby!" Nami suddenly pointed in a direction and said, "It's over there! Norton! Stop worrying about that turtle! It's probably the Buggy Pirates or the Krieg Pirates over there!"
"This is yours, Nami! You're in charge of this ship now!"
After saying that, Norton jumped into the sea, leaving everyone looking at each other in bewilderment.
"That impulsive guy! He's completely reckless!" Nami complained in a low voice.
"As expected of King, he actually did something like this..." Fu Ning shook her head and sighed.
"What do we do now?" Chloe pushed up her glasses.
"Didn't my lord say to listen to Miss Nami?" Sanosuke said coldly.
"What's your opinion?" Kro asked Zoro.
Kuro felt that, besides Sanosuke, the only other person on the ship who posed a threat to him was Zoro.
As for Zeff, he is currently still working as a chef at the floating restaurant Barradi.
"Whatever..." Zoro saw the lurking desire in Kuro's eyes, revealing his gleaming white teeth. "Or are you planning something?"
Chloe pushed up her glasses, the light reflected from them obscuring her gaze.
"No, it's just that it's my first time being instructed by a young girl, and I'm a little unaccustomed to it," Chloe said casually.
"Alright! Whatever you're thinking right now, we only have one thing to do! Find the source of the cannon fire!" Nami glanced at Kuro. "Norton said it's our job! We can't let that guy down!"
