Chapter 112 Return to the Castle! The Headmaster's Consultation!
Chapter 112 Return to the Castle! The Headmaster's Consultation!
"It's a killing curse, but fortunately, unicorns have strong magic resistance, so it didn't threaten their souls, it was just a simple physical injury."
Dumbledore examined it and said, then cast several powerful healing spells on the unicorn.
The lightning bolt-shaped wound on the unicorn's back healed instantly, eventually becoming an unsightly, large, lightning bolt-shaped scar.
Dudley then took out half a bottle of vitality supplement from his personal space and fed it to the unicorn.
Previously, when he made a large purchase at a low price from Madam Pomfrey, he bought a large bottle of Vitality Tonic, fed Little Pettigrew about half of it, and now there's still more than half left, which will come in handy.
The unicorn was clever; it knew that Dali was feeding it good stuff, so it didn't resist at all and swallowed it in big gulps, quickly finishing more than half the bottle of vitality supplement.
The unicorn then regained its energy, stood up unsteadily, took a few steps back and forth, and was mostly back to normal.
"Hissing sound~~~"
Seeing that their kind had recovered, the unicorn herd let out joyful cries.
The injured unicorn raised its right foreleg, lowered its head, and bowed respectfully to Dumbledore and Dudley from afar.
"Fellow horse brothers, sisters, and nephews, please be extra careful to prevent the black wizard from launching another sneak attack!"
Dali, leaning on his Smetin cane, bowed in return to the unicorn herd.
The unicorns let out another joyful cry, as if in response to Dudley, and then dispersed in disarray.
This place is ominous; they need to find a new place to settle down before they can sleep.
Once the unicorn herd had gone far away, Dudley immediately used his empty Vitality Tonic bottle to collect all the cursed unicorn blood left on the ground and put it into his personal space.
"Dullie, this blood is no good!" Dumbledore quickly reminded him.
“You’re being too simplistic, Dumbledore. It’s not only good things that are useful; sometimes, bad things can be incredibly useful too!” Dudley said meaningfully.
The life force in a unicorn's blood is naturally stronger the more blood it contains, but the curse within it is not like that.
If anyone's lips come into contact with this blood, even if they don't drink a single drop, the curse will still afflict that person without any reduction.
For Dudley, this was a highly cost-effective way to combine negative magic items, making it an essential tool for ambushes and sneak attacks.
Dumbledore looked at Dudley's sinister smile and sighed silently, thinking to himself that Dudley's enemies were in for trouble again.
But he didn't say anything more. Instead, he watched as Dudley threw his cane forward, turning it into a large, floating blanket.
"Come on up, my friend! Use your profound magic to make the magic carpet fly!"
Dudley lightly jumped onto the blanket and sat down, pointing to the remaining empty space on the blanket and speaking to Dumbledore.
"I have to say, Dali, you always manage to come up with something new."
Dumbledore did not refuse, and with his long legs, he also sat on the magic carpet.
Then he tapped the blanket beneath him with the Elder Wand, and the blanket immediately soared into the sky, flying over the Forbidden Forest. After determining its direction, it headed straight for Hogwarts Castle.
Moments later, Dudley and Dumbledore returned to the castle.
Dudley went straight to Eckeris's office to clean up the mess. He sent away Peeves, who had been staying there, and took out Eckeris's suitcase and put it back in its place.
Then, a 'Restore to Original' spell transformed the messy office back to its original state, as if time had reversed, making it seem as if Dudley had never even entered the place.
Because the magic carpet was much faster than Hagrid's, Dudley and Dumbledore were able to return to the castle before Hagrid, even though their treatment of the unicorn took some time.
Moreover, instead of going through the main entrance, they flew directly in through a window on a high floor.
Therefore, when Mrs. Pomfrey, who was awakened in the middle of the night, took over the patient from Hagrid and examined Ecclesia's injuries with great seriousness, feeling somewhat helpless, she wanted to seek help from the headmaster, and found Dumbledore without any disappointment.
Late that night, Dumbledore invited the heads of the four houses, along with Madam Pomfrey, to the university hospital for a specialist consultation for Professor Urcresse.
After a thorough joint investigation and discussion, a treatment plan was developed.
Professor Sprout gathers herbs, Snape concocts potions, and Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, and Dumbledore work together to cast a powerful antidote.
Finally, after daybreak, they managed to revive Professor Eckeris.
Meanwhile, Dali had already gone back to his dormitory and slept for several hours before waking up.
After leaving the Gryffindor common room, following the rumors that had been circulating since early morning, I went to the school hospital as a teaching assistant along with other professors to visit a patient.
……
Eckeris had a long nightmare in which she was trampled into a pulp by countless angry unicorns and then baked into a pizza by countless silvery-white energy rays.
Bizarre, absurd, and terrifying.
When she first woke up, she was in a daze, only vaguely aware that she seemed to be in a hospital ward or something similar, with several blurry figures around her.
Soothed by a gentle, kind female voice, she fell into a deep sleep once again.
When she opened her eyes again, she was fully conscious and recognized her surroundings.
She was at the school hospital, and Mrs. Pomfrey stayed by her side.
How did she survive the attack by the angry unicorn pack? And how did she get from the depths of the Forbidden Forest to the school hospital?
Has the evil plan that she extracted key memories from her mind been exposed?
Can she continue to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts?
Eckeris was in a state of turmoil and her face was pale. She didn't know what kind of situation she was about to face, so she could only force herself to calm down and prepare to deal with the difficulties.
"Professor Eckeris, you're awake! That's wonderful! Have some water first, I'll go tell everyone the good news!"
The school nurse, Mrs. Pomfrey, was unaware of Eckeris's complex inner turmoil. She was overjoyed to see Eckeris awake again.
The teapot and teacups on the low table next to the hospital bed automatically flew up, filled a cup with water, and floated to Ecclesia's lips, waiting to be tasted.
Then Mrs. Pomfrey got up to open the door to the ward.
Outside the ward, in a large rest room, most of the Hogwarts faculty and staff were waiting, chatting quietly among themselves.
A Defense Against the Dark Arts professor suffering a severe injury outside late at night—how could this not arouse curiosity and worry?
"Professor Eckeris has woken up. Everyone may come in to visit, but please note that you only have fifteen minutes. The patient needs to rest!"
Mrs. Pomfrey opened the ward door and addressed the waiting crowd with great assertiveness.
At the school hospital, she's the most powerful person in the world; even Dumbledore can't influence her.
