Chapter 167 Cooperative Killing of the Enemy
Chapter 167 Cooperative Killing of the Enemy
The next day, Mo woke up before Kakashi.
It's baffling why she could sleep so peacefully.
Mo looked him up and down, trying to find the reason from Kakashi.
The diamond-shaped pendant Kakashi wore around his neck caught her attention. She leaned closer, reached out and picked it up to take a look. Suddenly, some images flashed through her mind, and she immediately let go.
What Mo didn't notice was that there was a faint blue light inside the diamond-shaped pendant.
After a while, Kakashi woke up and immediately noticed the changes in his body. "It seems that the number of days I need to lie down this time is much shorter than before. I estimate that I will be fully recovered in another two days."
"You're finally awake!" Mo said coldly, his tone tinged with displeasure. "How about I send you back to Konoha? I can handle this mission by myself."
"No way!" Kakashi refused without even thinking; he couldn't possibly leave his comrade behind alone.
Seeing this, Mo said "Oh" and then said, "In that case, in order not to waste time, I need to arrange a special treatment. Please cooperate."
Before Kakashi could respond, Mo took it as a tacit agreement.
After arranging Kakashi into a meditation posture, she sat down cross-legged behind him, placing her hands on his back. "Don't move, don't talk."
With a warning, Mo began to control the spiritual energy within his body, channeling it into his body and circulating it through his meridians.
Sure enough, this was much faster than when he was unconscious.
After circulating the energy through her meridians three times, Mo stopped. "How do you feel?" she asked, staring intently at Kakashi, waiting for his response.
"The feeling of weakness has completely disappeared!" Kakashi exclaimed in surprise.
"That's good then, let's continue the mission." Mo nodded with satisfaction, but just as he stood up, a sharp pain suddenly struck his head, and some images flashed through his mind.
"What's wrong?" Kakashi asked, his eyes filled with concern.
"It's nothing, I'll go scout that area!" Mo turned and left.
Less than ten minutes later, she bumped into Kakashi.
"Are you having an episode?" Kakashi blurted out instinctively.
"You're the one having an attack. I came to check if you're really alright," Mo said angrily, then turned and walked away. "She'll just walk straight ahead. I don't believe I'll run into him again."
Some time later, Mo ran into Kakashi again.
"What's going on? She hasn't changed direction at all!"
Before Kakashi could speak, Mo said first, "Take this. If there's any danger, I'll know if there's chakra attached to it."
Without waiting for Kakashi's response, she walked in the opposite direction from him.
It's absolutely impossible to get her to admit that her headache is acting up.
Upon encountering Kakashi again, Mo felt like dying. "What excuse should I come up with this time?"
"Let's go together!" Kakashi invited, suppressing a laugh without revealing his true feelings.
“Alright, you look so weak, let’s go together.” Mo readily agreed.
A smile appeared on Kakashi's face beneath the mask. "This is the first time I've seen someone so tsundere. He looks so adorable."
Mo snorted and silently followed behind him.
Three days passed, and the two of them found nothing. Mo's headache had not improved, and he always had to stay by Kakashi's side, which made him even more depressed.
"Don't you think the weather's a bit off?" Mo asked, looking at the overcast sky.
"It's the rainy season now, so this often happens." Kakashi didn't see anything wrong with it; this was just how it was during this season.
No sooner had he finished speaking than the rain began to fall in a light drizzle.
Mo pulled out an umbrella from somewhere, just big enough to cover the two of them, but that made them stand a little too close.
"Next time, if she's not alone, she definitely won't go on a mission; she'll let her main body handle it herself," she muttered to herself.
At this moment, a strange sight caught her attention. "Can it be foggy when it rains? Is this a normal phenomenon?" she wondered, looking at Kakashi beside her, waiting for his answer.
Suddenly, the spot where the two were standing began to slowly sink.
"You've been tricked!"
Kakashi and Mo quickly retreated.
Just then, a ninja rushed out from the ground and headed straight for Kakashi's vital point. Without thinking, Mo folded up his umbrella and threw it at the ninja, the force of which pierced through the ninja's chest.
The fog grew thicker and thicker until the two could no longer see each other.
There were no rain shelters, and there were traces of chakra in the rain, so it was obviously rained on purpose.
The enemy must have known their location; the situation just now was deliberately designed to separate them so that they could be defeated one by one.
"So, the Hidden Cloud Village and the Hidden Mist Village have joined forces?"
Mo didn't have time to think. He drew his long sword from his waist and knocked away the kunai and shuriken flying from all directions.
Finally, she simply closed her eyes and listened carefully to the sounds around her. Before long, six more corpses appeared on the ground.
The next second, Mo disappeared from his spot and arrived next to Kakashi through the Flying Thunder God mark on his body.
As soon as he arrived, he almost got stabbed. Mo reacted quickly and kicked the attacker away, sending him flying. No one knows where he went.
"Tell me your location with your Sharingan!" Mo suggested, leaning against Kakashi.
With Kakashi around, she couldn't easily pinpoint his location by sound. If she went too far away, they wouldn't be able to see each other anymore. If she mistook him for an enemy and stabbed him, she would truly die an unjust death.
"Okay!" Kakashi replied.
"Ten meters at the five o'clock position..."
"7 o'clock..."
"..."
Mo kept Kakashi by his side throughout, listening to him report the locations, and killed the enemies one by one.
"However, even after using his Sharingan, he still seems so weak." Mo looked at the unconscious Kakashi with a puzzled expression. "Does he need a blood transfusion?"
As an avatar, she didn't have any blood to give him.
Mo resignedly set Kakashi up and moved him to a new location. The previous spot had already been discovered, so she really didn't notice the 'explosive tags' that had been buried.
Mo casually cast a spell, and after hearing a huge explosion, he used the 'Flying Thunder God Technique' to leave.
Seeing Kakashi fall unconscious again, she felt that this mission was going to be a long time coming. "I'm so tired!"
When Kakashi woke up, he saw that Mo had set up a pot and was cooking something.
He quickly found out what it was.
Looking at the bowl of dark, mushy medicine in front of him, Kakashi was reluctant to drink it. He glanced at the expression on Mo's face, which seemed to say, "If he doesn't drink it, I'll just force it down his throat," but he still took it.
After thinking for a moment, he opened his mouth and asked, "Mo, what is this?"
Mo replied calmly, "It's to help you recover!"
"I'm perfectly healthy." Upon hearing this, Kakashi was even less inclined to drink, as drinking it would indirectly admit that he was unwell.
Mo looked at him speechlessly. He would faint and lose consciousness at the drop of a hat, looking extremely weak. Who would believe that he was in good health?
She pursed her lips and explained, "Drinking this will be very good for your future marriage."
“Hmm…even if the partner is a guy, you’ll still be the one on top,” Mo added, thinking of Obito.
Kakashi had just taken a sip from his bowl when he heard this and coughed up. "Mo, do you want to hear what you're saying?" he thought to himself, afraid that the more he explained, the more difficult it would be to clarify.
She seems to have forgotten what happened that night. Was he not clear enough? He doesn't like Rin or Obito; he likes her.
After a while, he calmed down and, under Mo's watchful gaze, finished the bowl of medicine.
"How is it? Is it effective?" Mo took out paper and pen, preparing to record the reaction after drinking the medicine.
Seeing Kakashi's face visibly darken, she immediately decided to ask later, thinking, "A wise person knows when to yield!" and figuring the medicine wouldn't take effect so quickly anyway.
