Chapter 3 Burning the Holy Land
Chapter 3 Burning the Holy Land
"What is he doing?" Marigold asked, completely bewildered.
Hancock and Sandasonia were also confused, staring blankly at Chu Yang.
The uneven dungeon stone slabs suddenly cracked, and trees and vines grew wildly and uncontrollably from the cracks, flooding the dungeon like a tidal wave.
The normally impregnable prison doors were now more fragile than tofu, easily crushed by the trees.
The sudden change left the three sisters dumbfounded. They stood frozen in place, afraid to move, thinking that some monster had appeared in the dungeon.
Under Chu Yang's control, the trees created a path for people to enter and exit. He stood outside the prison door and shouted, "Come out quickly!"
Recovering from her daze, Hancock emerged from the dense forest, asking with a mixture of surprise and doubt, "You're a Devil Fruit user?"
"There's no time for that now!" Chu Yang avoided the question, saying, "Let's get everyone out of here!"
"Thank you!" Hancock looked at Chu Yang deeply, as if she wanted to etch his image into her mind, before leaving with her two younger sisters.
Chu Yang used his Wood Release technique to destroy all the prison doors in a short time.
The long-imprisoned slaves poured out and fled towards the outside of the dungeon.
The massive crowd formed a black wave, which looked extremely frightening from a distance, and that was exactly the effect Chu Yang wanted.
As the last person escaped the dungeon, Chu Yang burned this place filled with evil to the ground. With plenty of trees as fuel, the fire spread extremely rapidly.
Chu Yang thus took advantage of the darkness to set fires along the way, using his Wood Release technique to spread the flames throughout Mary Geoise.
However, what Chu Yang didn't know was...
Elsewhere in the city, someone is doing the same thing.
In the darkness, his tall figure appeared exceptionally imposing in the firelight.
The unusual red skin and appearance indicated that the other person was not an ordinary human.
Fisher Tiger!
Tiger, who has always cherished freedom, dreamed of becoming a traveler, but shortly after he began his journey, he was captured by human traffickers and enslaved.
For three whole years, Tiger suffered inhuman torture and witnessed the greed and evil deep within human nature, which made him extremely disappointed in humanity.
But more than hatred, Tiger wanted to liberate the lives of other races who had suffered the same fate as him.
This is why he returned after successfully escaping the holy site.
Tiger wants to liberate all the slaves here.
Tiger, who was full of lofty ideals, had just released some slaves and set fire to the cages when he discovered that the other side of the city was already ablaze!
who is it?
They actually got there faster than me?
Watching the fire spiral out of control, Tiger realized that if he didn't hurry to rescue the slaves, everyone would be burned alive.
"Who the hell started this fire?" Tiger was chased around by the flames, cursing angrily.
Fortunately, Tiger had a thorough understanding of the layout of the Holy Land from his time as a slave, and despite the time constraints, he managed to rescue most of the slaves.
The remaining slaves also took advantage of the chaos to escape.
Having achieved his goal, Tiger is preparing to escape the Holy Land.
A group of naval personnel approached from a short distance away and surrounded Tiger.
"How dare you release so many slaves without permission!" the colonel in his navy coat roared furiously.
Tiger declared righteously, "They were innocent people, trafficked to the Holy Land by human traffickers. As members of the Navy, you not only fail to protect the weak, but you also aid and abet the evildoers. It's a disgrace!"
The naval captain sneered, "I'm too lazy to waste words with you. Compared to releasing slaves, your crime of burning down the holy land is far greater. You're already dead; just surrender!"
Tiger paused for a moment, then shouted angrily, "I didn't start the fire!"
"You're about to die and you're still trying to talk your way out of it! Since you're not going to surrender, don't blame me for using force!" The naval captain completely ignored Tiger's explanations and ordered his men to launch an attack.
In an instant, a group of people surrounded him, and dozens of muskets were fired at Tiger simultaneously.
Tiger, meanwhile, calmly began to use Fishman Karate.
Tiger grasped the air in his hand, turning it into a violent current of air, which, with a forceful swing, instantly rippled outwards.
Countless bullets were struck by the airflow and tumbled precariously, falling to the ground like raindrops.
The naval captain looked very uneasy; Tiger's skills had exceeded his expectations.
The naval captain said coldly, "To dare to infiltrate the holy land alone and set it on fire, you are indeed no ordinary fish-man."
Seeing the other party's certainty, Tiger didn't bother to explain. He had come here to liberate the slaves in the first place, and now it didn't make much difference.
When the ranged attack failed, the colonel ordered his soldiers to engage in hand-to-hand combat.
Tiger, being a fish-man, possessed physical abilities ten times that of a normal human, and he knew that these soldiers were no match for him.
But that doesn't matter. As long as we delay a little longer, the Navy's strongmen will naturally come to deal with this guy.
The colonel only wanted a share of the profits and had no intention of fighting Tiger to the death.
Meanwhile, Tiger, seeing that the enemy's commander had not made a move and was only sending some weaklings to deal with him, immediately understood his intentions.
"A swift and decisive victory!"
Tiger tried to break out in one fell swoop, but he always got caught up in the sheer number of people, like two feet stuck in a quagmire, unable to move.
The naval captain stood outside the crowd and said smugly, "Don't put up a futile resistance; it's better for everyone this way."
Tiger's expression was grim. The longer time passed, the more intense the fire grew, indicating that a powerful naval commander was about to arrive.
"If you want me to go back to being a slave, I'd rather die here!" Tiger gritted his teeth and stared at the group of marines. Even if he died, he would take a few people down with him, especially the leading naval captain.
Just as Tiger was preparing for a desperate fight, the ground beneath his feet began to tremble violently.
One after another, massive trees rose from the ground, instantly overturning the naval camp and sending countless soldiers flying.
Surrounded by trees, the colonel shouted in panic, "What the hell is that?"
The next second, he was submerged by the sea of trees!
This sudden scene was truly terrifying, and Tiger had no choice but to keep a close watch on these eerie trees.
"Why aren't you leaving? What are you doing here?"
Just then, a human boy emerged from the woods, glanced at Tiger, and hurriedly left from the other side.
Tiger paused for a moment, then followed the boy, weaving through the trees.
At the same time, the Five Elders of the World Government are going berserk!
"Outrageous! How dare someone commit murder and arson in Mary Geoise? They've utterly trampled on the Celestial Dragons' dignity!"
"Have you found out which audacious individual it was?"
"According to the patrol team's report, it appears a merman is taking advantage of the situation to free slaves!"
"Damn the merfolk, they've gotten more and more arrogant these past few years!"
"Where is Sakazuki? Tell him to come here right now and seize these slave criminals!"
"The city is on fire. Wouldn't calling Sakazuki over just make things worse? It'd be better to let Aokiji handle it!"
