Chapter 53 Wanda's Revenge
Chapter 53 Wanda's Revenge
"Sir, the military has initiated the nuclear launch procedure, targeting Stark Tower. Do you recommend an immediate evacuation?" Jarvis's voice came through Tony's mask.
Tony looked at Shendu. Jarvis's voice had not been muted at all, and Shendu heard it clearly.
"It seems you're not well-liked by your teammates," the Holy Lord chuckled. "So, are you going to run away now, or cooperate with the military to launch all the nuclear missiles you've stored, taking me down with you?"
"You need something from me," the Holy Lord added.
Tony's eyes kept flashing between the sky and Shendu: "Jarvis, I remember that the military launch requires your approval, right?"
"Yes, sir. Before I confirm, the military can only initiate the process, not fully implement it. The final decision rests with you, sir," Jarvis said.
Tony no longer concealed his expression and laughed, "Procedure continues. Modify the ballistic trajectory and keep them hovering over New York until I give the order."
The Holy Lord raised an eyebrow: "You anticipated this?"
Tony put his mask back on: "It's just a backup plan. I haven't trusted the military since the Battle of New York."
Fury stared at the screen in front of him, where two nuclear missiles were flying aimlessly over New York. His brow furrowed. "It seems Tony tampered with the launch procedure. But we're also in a good position because of him. However, the military and we have completely lost the initiative now."
"Chief, what do we do now? Do we need to cooperate with Tony?" Steve asked from the side. "We have no other choice now."
"choose?"
Fury scoffed: "An arrogant and conceited bastard, a life form from another world, and this useless military."
Fury walked to the safe next to him and took out a pager: "The choice has always been in my hands; they're just being presumptuous."
"However, I may never see that scene."
This time, Fury did not hesitate. Earth was facing an unprecedented crisis, and it was time to summon her.
Fury pressed the pager button hard, and a beam of light shot from the pager into the sky.
Saint and Tony both looked in this direction. Tony's eyes showed confusion; he didn't understand what other tricks Fury could possibly have up his sleeve.
Shendu smirked; Fury had finally summoned Captain Marvel.
Captain Marvel, light-years away, suddenly felt a jolt in her heart and glanced in the direction of Earth: "Is it just my imagination?"
As the beam of light slowly disappeared, the Holy Lord stretched and said, "Very good, Fury has completed his task. Now, it's my turn."
Tony felt a tremor in his heart as he listened to Shendu's words, a heavy sense of oppression emanating from Shendu.
The Holy Lord raised his hand, and the light of four talismans appeared on his hand, three of which had an orange-yellow glow: "Although the power is not much, it is enough to deal with you."
Tony stared at Shendu, his voice coming from behind the mask: "What do you mean? You want to explode? Don't forget, the power I have now is enough to threaten you."
Shendu glanced at Tony, his eyes filled with undisguised disdain: "You're not enough for me to take action."
The Holy Lord clapped his hands, and Wanda gestured. She no longer suppressed her anger, and dark red smoke instantly emanated from her body.
Tony watched as the unfamiliar woman in front of him gradually turned ferocious, a dark red robe appeared out of thin air on her body, and her ten fingers gradually turned black.
The Holy Lord also noticed that Wanda's aura not only contained the aura of chaos magic, but also a trace of dark magic. She had not yet obtained the Dark Book, but the shadow of dark magic had already begun to appear on her.
"Tony, it seems her hatred for you runs deeper than I thought," Shendu chuckled, a throne appearing out of thin air behind him as he sat atop it, watching the unfolding drama with a mocking expression.
Tony's sense of heaviness deepened: "Madam, I don't think we've met before."
Wanda didn't answer. She raised her hand, and dark red mist slowly spread towards Tony.
Tony frowned, seemingly unable to communicate with Wanda: "Jarvis, analyze it."
Jarvis's voice carried a hint of doubt: "Sir, I cannot analyze this energy; it does not belong to any currently known physical framework."
Jarvis's voice faltered slightly: "Sir, this energy is infecting the armor's energy transmission system."
The moment the words left his mouth, the first wisp of red mist touched the arm of the armor.
Tony felt a chill run through the arm that had killed him, as if the arm had suddenly been plunged into ice water; the sensor system on the outer layer of his armor malfunctioned for a moment.
Tony broke out in a cold sweat and hurriedly manipulated his armor to create distance, firing his palm cannons in succession, trying to blast a hole in the red mist.
But Wanda simply tilted her head, and the three palm-shaped cannons stopped in mid-air, their light slowly fading away.
Tony's pupils contracted sharply as he watched this scene. Wanda gently tucked her fingers together, and the three laser beams wove a bouquet of flowers in her hand like three threads.
"My mother loved this flower, but sadly I'll never see her smile again."
Wanda slightly moved her fingers, and the bouquet turned into specks of light and disappeared. At the same time, the red mist beside Wanda condensed into a giant axe and cleaved down toward Tony's face.
Tony quickly dodged the attack by sidestepping, but the energy spreading from the axe covered the shoulder area of his armor.
Tony watched as the part of his shoulder, like corroded paper, gradually shrank, peeled away, and turned to ashes.
"Damn it!"
Tony quickly activated the thrusters, propelling himself backward. He glanced down at his corroded shoulder, where the wiring was still crackling.
The Holy Lord sat on his throne, resting his chin on his hand, watching the scene with great interest: "As expected, Wanda is a game-changer for you."
Wanda stood there, her breathing a little rapid. The level of control she had exerted over chaos magic in that attack far exceeded what she had done at the Hydra base. She was still not proficient at it and needed a short pause to organize the energy within her body.
But she doesn't care now; her chance for revenge is right in front of her.
"you."
Tony opened his mouth as if to say something, but Wanda didn't give him the chance. She suddenly raised her hand towards Tony's body, and Tony felt as if something was gripping his body.
This feeling penetrated through the armor; the pressure sensor system on the mask showed no increase in values, yet he could feel the pressure emanating from every bone in his body.
"Jarvis," Tony managed to say.
There was no response. All the electronic components inside the armor were controlled by a force, and Tony could only see a string of red gibberish jumping on the mask.
Tony Stark is trapped inside his own armor.
Wanda slowly flew towards Tony, who felt the pressure on his body increase rapidly, and the intense pain contorted his face.
